No, wouldn’t have anything to do with that.Does this effect volume of avoidance system too? I backed into a car in my driveway with radio on and didn't hear alarms and really don't remember seeing anything on the screen.
My local dealership claims to have swapped out my camera (a 23 badlands). I went in on Friday for a service and they offered to do it then.04/28/2025

Same part number for mine, yet it says the 22/23 parts are yet to be assigned a part number.Took my car in for other warranty work today (my center MIC panel was replaced during the winter due to warpage and because I have the JTops bimini top, didn't realize that when they replaced the center panel, the new one didn't have the sound deadening, so they added it today) and they did both the stupid seat belt latch recall and surprisingly the rear camera. They just got a bunch into stock. Camera image looks the same to me.
On my paperwork, assuming I am looking at the right line, the new part number is M2DZ*19G490*E.
Still have the rear shocks to do whenever they get parts.
Thanks for this information. A local dealership reached out to me today and was trying to schedule for fixing this but with this information I was able to question the part being installed. Like others mentioned, I'll likely push back to align with the rear shock replacements.Same part number for mine, yet it says the 22/23 parts are yet to be assigned a part number.
M2DZ-19G490-E is the previous part number, which obviously is very much in stock and plentiful, making me wonder why they're not assigning it that same number, and if this install was not correct and done just because the year range was expanded from the 21 recall.
Info from a contact at a dealership says they cannot install a correct part until they assign that number, which is stated as not being until Q4 of 2025.
There's some wiggle room on part allocation ordering for "Special parts" apparently... I'm waiting to hear back from the dealership that installed mine. I'll update when I hear back from them.
So how does this resolve the recall by replacing the "bad" camera with the same camera? And why would Ford or the Ford dealership have done this?Same part number for mine, yet it says the 22/23 parts are yet to be assigned a part number.

Well... I'm of a mind to think that they're accepting the Ford payment for the fix, and using the fix for the 21 recall, ignoring that the 22/23 expanded recall does not currently have a part number yet.So how does this resolve the recall by replacing the "bad" camera with the same camera? My problem is that the dealership has now ignored me when I drew it to their attention, and I'm not sure how to advance this. If only to have concerns eased.
Ford isn't on this forum anymore@Ford Motor Company
Can you suggest a course of action on a situation like this? The dealership (Ford of kirkland) doesn't seem to be able to explain how they have performed this recall on a 23 when the part isn't available, and are now ignoring my messages.
Is this acceptable in some way I'm not understanding? My main concern is that I won't be able to obtain the actual fix when the part is assigned, as my status on the app has the recall alert removed.
Considering it's a safety recall, this is pretty concerning to me.
My thanks.
Oh, that's a shame. Seemed like just the place to ask them to clear up something.Ford isn't on this forum anymore

Dealers can get the parts by contacting SSSC or some other ways in certain situations though. Not sure if this is what your dealership did or not.

I'm not sure which part number you're referring to, or how you know it was the same part that failed the first time.My question would be, if that part number is okay to use, then why hasn't it been assigned that same number? And if that replacement is effectively the same part in place, the failure of which caused it to have a recall on it, how can the swapping of it for the same part make sense?... in a safety recall sense.
That’s the biggest issue with a techie rig, more digital/electronic equipment more potential show stopper issues on the trail.Y'all would shit if you saw all the other recalls they come out with every...single...day. Worst I've seen since the early '90s when I started in this business. I don't see how Ford can keep doing this and it not severely impacting their reputation and financial stability.
The part number was mentioned several times half a dozen posts above. It was the fix for the 21 camera recall, and the oem part in the 22 and 23.I'm not sure which part number you're referring to, or how you know it was the same part that failed the first time.
The updated part number listed for the 21 is likely the same correct part number for the rest. I'm guessing they didn't list the part number so that dealers don't just start ordering it yet without enough available, but I'm not sure.
You're best bet is to reach out to Ford directly on their website.
No, that’s not accurate. The part number was mentioned several times half a dozen posts above. It was the fix for the 21 camera recall, and the oem part in the 22 and 23.
I even verified the part number at the dealership.
It's the same part the 23 already has.
