Yeah I get it, but it has that niggling fear of a dying alternator attached.
The Bronco has a built in low power shutout on the negative terminal, so... It's really spectacularly careful with it's batteries... All these symptoms of battery demise and it'll still start strong... *shrug*
*edit...
I've noticed that it's a combination of things.
At first stop/start worked continuously, and I could seemingly take all manner of time on breaks in my car, listening to the radio with the engine off, and there would be no problems.
Following on... It started to not engage start/stop as often...
Not only relocates it, but puts it down by 2 feet and over to the left, completely destroying the 360 camera meshing.
It's really weird because the placement STILL doesn't clear all the new bumper stick out points, so the license plate or winch will be seen in the camera anyway, so to me, they...
I did indeed use all of them, and drilled the passenger side extra one too that many installs on youtube seemed to leave out.
I'll sleep on it and go one level deeper... I think the brackets will need to be measured in their placement to figure out what to adjust, or I'm just shooting in the...
So it's installed, but not without some issues. Once again the weather really chased me inside, and it's going to get wet here, so I'm going to be living with this for a while until I can get back to it.
I do recall on the front install that torqueing the brackets helped to kind of massage them...
Same.
I've actually just abandoned it for the day. I only tried the drivers side.
All videos on youtube show them going on relatively easy... I was hammering on that thing for over an hour trying to get the holes to align. I even jacked it up, using the weight of the vehicle to push it on... It...
I notice you went with the spare mounted license plate solution.
How is that sitting with you?
I'm really not set on any solution right now, but I do have a male electrical connector on it's way to use that original power source from the original light location on the loom, plus a lit plate...
Quick note... Thought this might help someone in the same odd, bumper light search problem in a world where 99 percent of aftermarket bumpers refuse to acknowledge OEM license plate placement :D
I can't find another US source for the male end of this plug other than Ali express either, but they...
Mine arrived Friday... You installed that fast :)
I don't know if you have the matching front bumper, but it has legendary difficulty status. I was hoping this one would be easier... I'll see how my brackets installl. I have watched an install video or two, and they do seem to be wailing on...
Yeah I'll pass along pictures if it pans out. I use my 3d printer to get a good prototype. Sometimes they stay that way if they seem robust enough.
Another thought occurred to me. D-Ring license plate holders exist for jeeps, so it might not require too much of an adapter from the arb recovery...
Yeah same, I just purchased the wide in their sale.
Not particularly fond of the Dv8 relocation either as it sticks out the side of the swing gate.
To be honest, I don't really understand why it can't be in the oem location. That's where the power for the old light is after all. There's an...
Looks good... One question.
Do you know what the difference between the zenith 5680020B and the regular rear bumper
5680010B is?
I have the summit front winch bumper and like the quality... So would like the matching rear. Could have sworn there was a summit rear, but now only those two...
I still don't understand why so many rear bumpers don't keep the oem license plate location. The lighting rerouting alone is the largest part of the install... Crazy really.
Yeah that is interesting... And yes, expensive.
Half the battery size, but two of them... That seems less than ideal unless I'm missing something. Are they perhaps a larger capacity than OEM?
Does it just keep one fresh as a backup?
May I ask what battery you went with? I'm noticing familiar old battery symptoms on my 2 year old Bronco that may have been going on since around year 1.
Complaints about crap batteries aside, I'd like to cut to the chase and replace it for something with more bandwidth.
Just feeding the same monster, over and over again.
The purchasing point through the dealership, and the disconnect from dealerships to the mothership is the overall problem. Commission based workers forced to scam you for their bonuses and livelihoods.
I don't even want to use a dealership. I...
