NA0607 - What is this doing here?

Checking under the hood of a MY25 Braptor and found this protective cap (1st photo) wedged in the top of the location I am pointing to in 2nd photo. DBI seems to be the manufacturer of this cap that online searches seem to say the cap is used to protect hoses and hydraulic fittings. No vehicle issues noted - is it just a leftover from the vehicle assembly or something else that has fallen off? Any guidance appreciated.

Assembly worker has zero time to search for an errantly dropped cap.

Based on the image that you provided, this is a protective plastic dust cap/plug manufactured by DBI Plastics (indicated by the "DBI" stamping). Specifically, this is a heavy-duty shipping or assembly cap used during the manufacturing and transport process of automotive components to keep dirt, moisture, and debris out of sensitive areas. These caps are typically used by Ford or its tier-1 suppliers to seal off factory components—such as large chassis openings, suspension components, steering gear housings, or axle tubes—before the vehicle is fully assembled. It is incredibly common for assembly line workers to pop these off right before a component is bolted together, but occasionally they get trapped in a crossmember or frame rail and ride along all the way from the factory. If you've recently been working under the vehicle, installing aftermarket parts, or if the vehicle is relatively new, it likely just jarred loose and fell out of a hidden pocket in the undercarriage. It is a disposable factory shipping item, so you don't need to worry about replacing it on the vehicle!

This reminds me of the time I dropped the transmission pan on my Thunderbird and in the pan was a round plastic ball with a one inch long stem . I was looking up through the transmission trying to figure out where the “ part” had come loose. At the local owned auto parts shop I mentioned my concern over this part in my transmission pan as I was purchasing trans fluid. The counter man told me not to worry because it was an assembly line plug installed in the transmission filler tube. As the tranny was connected to the vehicle during assembly a line worker would stick a rod into the filler tube and with a mallet knock out the plug which would fall into the pan. The plug kept the transmission fluid from leaking out during shipping and pre install.
