Not sure about Colorado, but when I lived in the Northeast they would switch to "winter gas mix" in the late fall. This had a higher ethanol percentage, and would kill my mileage.
I’m in oil and gas. It’s exactly this. Because people still drive carbureted vehicles, in colder climates, they have to keep vapor pressure up in the fuel so they can start easily. They do this by using more butane in the winter blend/mix as it has a lower temperature boiling point than higher BTU natural gasolines. If everything was fuel injected they wouldn’t need to do this as mechanical spraying atomizes it enough to start when cold. Direct injection even in gasoline allows for much denser hydrocarbons such as diesel. This is why you can’t have a carburetor on a diesel.

Ask around to see what fuel brand Porsche and Ferrari owners are using in your area. One of the service depts or salepersons will tell you.

I have noticed a huge difference with high ethanol, which govts love becaue effeciency drops, use more fuel and they make a lot more gas tax revenue.

After FP tune my effeciency went up a lot.

Was told years ago every 1000' in elevation robs 3% of HP.Fuel injection keeps the air/fuel ratio in balance but you drive harder to compensate for HP loss.

One other variable for me, I used to be able to get 21-22mpg in the Denver area, but after installing the Ford roof rails, I'm now only getting 18-19mpg. Wind resistance?
Ah, you made the brick bigger......

My milage keeps going down too, about 5mpg to 7mpg lower than the first 3,000 miles. No matter how careful I drive or road conditions. :curse:

OTA updates or something?

I have the OEM rack, and took the first cross bar off -- no MPG change.

(I have the cross bar off because I am working on making an antenna mount there).

At 6000 - 12,000 ft it doesn't need more than regular. If I go down I'll run premium.
This is the case with an N/A motor that operates solely off of vacuum, not so much with a motor that gets force fed any amount of boost.

Run 87.
