I'm chasing down a phantom leak. Can anyone confirm if the motor mounts on the 2.7 contain fluid?

YesNever heard of motor mounts containing liquid? Is that a thing?
Yes it is a thing, and has been for a LONG time. Late 90's+ GM W-bodies (Grand Prix, Impala, Century, Regal) had a fluid-filled lower motor mount. It wasn't usually an issue, but occasionally they would rupture and leak until there was no fluid left. The motor would vibrate quite a bit more because of that, but unless you knew what you were looking for (and cleaned that lower motor mount off) you might not know it had happened and thought you had an oil leak from the motor.Never heard of motor mounts containing liquid? My wife's grand cherokee has fluid filled motor mounts. Huge PITA when they leakNever heard of motor mounts containing liquid? Is that a thing?
Yes, there are also active motor mounts that change their frequency to neutralize the vibrations of the engine.Never heard of motor mounts containing liquid? Is that a thing?

Did you ever get this resolved? I did an oil change on my 2021 2.3 yesterday and when I pulled the skid plate off the front passenger side axle had some oil on it and I first thought it was from the power steering unit but all I can figure is it dripped down from above and the only thing above it the passenger side motor mount. Mine has 91k miles and it dry with zero leaks at the last oil change so definitely something new. I can't find a good description online of the engine mount but I'm 95% sure that where it came from.I'm chasing down a phantom leak. Can anyone confirm if the motor mounts on the 2.7 contain fluid?
That's crazy!Yes, some mounts do have fluid. One of my Mercedes has these.
