Got around to doing mine yesterday. Got a little under 48 oz. out. Pretty close to the 51.2 required. Probably the quickest fluid change I've ever done.
How’d the fluid look? How many miles?

27K. Brownish red. Coming out looked ok until I compared it to the bright red fresh stuff.

I figured I better tackle this before my annual Fluid Film coating since I was planning to tackle that today, I did the fluid change first. Wasn’t ideal to have to buy the Mercon at AutoZone for $12.99 - but, whatchagonnado?

Definitely dark and the sludge on the drain plug was thick.

I decided to reuse the seals because they seemed totally fine without any indentations or markings. Even though the ones I got from Amazon were the same dimensions in ID and OD, they were about a millimeter thinner. I’m sure they’re fine - but, for my first drain & fill I wanted to see how the originals held up. I was sure to clean the area well and I’ll take a peek in a few days.

One other thing. Specs call for 1.3 QT and I didn’t noticed until it was too late - but, 1.6 QT went in without any dripping out of the fill hole (about 10 oz over). Vehicle was level. When I stuck a clean/gloved pinky in there - it seemed to be touching liquid - so, surely within the 10mm. But, kinda hard to tell. What a dumb ass measurement requirement.

@redone17 the Amazon link shows (highlights) the washers marked as Porsche Volvo M18.
Are these the correct ones?

Found this post by a search and really appreciate the parts numbers and torque!!!!

I’m sure they’re totally usable. See my last post. Slightly thinner. But, totally serviceable.

Transfer Case Plug: 26 lb.ft (35 Nm) for Part-Time & 18 lb.ft for the 4A.

This sealant from Permatex would be fine too and likely easier to find:

This service manual recommends to drain and fill with the transmission in neutral. Can you drain/fill the transfer case while in park and engine off or does it have to be in neutral with the engine off?
I have seen a few videos on the bronco transfer case fluid change and none mention this step.

It can be in park, engine off.
It says place the vehicle in neutral for almost every repair, but it doesn't need to be.
