Planning on loading a 2 Person tent on this. The initial idea (and still the plan) was getting these soft top crossbars was to load the tent on no top mode (I really don't want to drill). But since these crossbars can be converted to hard top, we decided to give it a try. The bars feel very solid and the support feet attached to the bracket does seem to provide a good support base. I got the tent brackets in place, already clicked-in to the crossbars (see photo). Those will be attaching to the tent allowing it to click-in and out (this will be the same method when in Soft top/ no top mode). Will let you know how it goes!!

No hate here but I'd be concerned with those feet contacting the roof.

I mounted my rtt and 270 awning (<150lbs) right on the OEM rack and 3 OEM crossbars. Cross country trips and daily driver all last summer. No problems. Will be doing the same this summer.

It could work.

If I wanted up their with my wife for the night though, I know I'd be trying my damndest to break it in right though. I'd like to claim that there's no way it would hold up, but my game is slowing down as I get older, so maybe.

Keep in mind, the hard top manufacturers won awards for their innovative use of cardboard in the manfacture of these hard tops.

This looks like bad things could happen to your top. Very expensive bad things.

OP take a look at at least putting something like firm rubber padding under those round feet to distribute the load. Inherent issues about the top finish and strength are one one reason, and also that just doesn't look like a stable footing for all the weight, especially when you are up there moving around in the RTT.

I am not 100%, but I think I had read somewhere that the weight capacity for the roofrack was ~350 lbs. I'd be worried about that amount of weight regardless on the material that the hard top is made from.

Not hating, just stating facts. Wind, bumpy roads, etc. will push all well built roof racks to the limit. Tents are bricks mounted to your roof. They require the proper gear to keep them from breaking something. Cry now (pay for the proper gear) Smile later (didn't break anything or kill someone on the highway).
