Definitely more expensive, takes up more room, weighs a ton, rattles like a SOB when off-road, but at least I know how to use it 🤷‍♂️

When I went to Moab, I wrapped my Hi-Lift in a beach towel with a couple of zip ties around it and put it on the floor behind the front seats of my 2 door. When I got home, I took it out and put it back in the garage. Not exactly too cool for school but it worked.

I have used it to help me get a heavy washing machine into a tight spot.

I have used the shit out my hi-lift over my decades of wheeling. I have never liked the idea of mounting it outside, so I separate the base and shaft and store them inside. In my EB the base goes in a lock box mounted where the rear seat was and the 60" shaft gets mounted along the inside quarter panel above the wheel well. I haven't determined a mounting solution for my 6G yet...but it won't be outside if I do carry one.

I was thinking about as a 5' hood ornament...

I’ve got mine mounted to the dedicated bracket that goes with the RTR Spare Tire Carrier - it puts the jack behind the spare tire tucked away. So now my pretty green farm jack can come on trips and generally sit their and rust as soon as humid air gets nearby.

Farm Jack also useful like a manual wench if you had to. Also +2 melee when used as a bludgeon

Tell me more about the clear tubing coming from interior tailgate grate. I presume the mount above is for a faucet?

Yep. Dometic faucet mount from American Adventure Labs. Dometic water jug in back area of Bronco. Tube through the door and then behind the table and out by the wiring loom

I have the plastic cover there back on with the hose through it but waiting on the AAL panel to go there.

Personally, I think this is a bad location as it is just a matter of time until you mishandle it & it lands on the hood. $.02 🤠

Got one in the truck's tool box, and the bronco one mounted off the tailgate hinge w/ softtop. If you mount off of the tailgate hinge with a hardtop you need to watch the glass. Learned that with the jk.

I know hilifts get a bunch of flack, but I have used them more than I would like to admit. Yes, in general most that are on the road don't get used. They have their risks but a great tool when in a bad situation. Also does wonders for deep snow wheeling. Jack the front and back up till its maxed and knock it out gets you shifted out of some deep ruts.

Casting ftw. They really are such a useful tool in the right hands. I've freed stuck chain saws with it trying to clear deadfall blocking the trail, broken beads with it, and gotten the truck off some stumps when it landed right between my sliders. Not on my rig but on another we got his trail limo high centered, jacked the front up till the rear tires could touch the ground again and drove into it (making it fall and freeing the truck).

Toyota mechanical screw bottle jack... fits in the rear cargo compartment. I also just throw blocks of 4x4 in when I am wheeling. WTF do you need something that big bolted to your bronco when its used like never. Every seen how much it takes to body lift a braptor lol. Speaking of shovels, I have a fold up smaller one that lives on my tailgate molle.

I have a feeling most people here do not recommend a high lift, myself included.

Heavy, dangerous, and are typically for decoration on people's rigs. Seen bolted to a Wrangler hood, rusting itself to death.

I prefer a bottle jack, or the Harbor Freight off-road jack.
I grew up on a ranch and all the rigs had high lifts. We used them regularly for all sorts of jobs around the ranch. It is amazing how many uses there are for these jacks.

To add a question here (bottle vs HL vs ARB vs OEM etc) - in one rig or the other I have one of the above or more on board. Depending on the outing. I always had a good scissor jack on hand in my trailering days dragging Early Broncos around.
3 T Scissor

HL is a last resort, bottle jacks ok but I like the low profile of the scissor with a block or pad depending on terrain. Takes up no space. Maybe keep something like this in the mix?

The factory scissor jack works fine with a plank of wood under it and it has an extension. But there are times (not often or ever if you’re lucky) a HL is necessary. I ran into that after making fun of my friends for having them bolted to their hoods. It took 2 HL’s to get me out of a bad situation.

I’m a scissor jack appreciator. Gonna need a big ol block now though with 40’s and portals
