help...Why would one buy a Black Diamond over a Big Bend if ordered basically the same?

The black diamond has the skids welded to the rear lower control arm mounts while the bb does not as I recall seeing.
At those price points I would by an Everglades model, you will get more for less $. And I actually did, hooray me.

Did it come from the factory like that or is it removeable? I will have to check out a badlands next time I am at the dealer. The stuff inside my top is like the fuzzy side of velcro...not sure how thick it is though but you can stick patches to it pretty nicely.

I don't have any complaints on wind noise, I mostly hear the tires.

I don't hear the tires, but I think that's a combination of tread pattern and other sound deadening in the Badlands.

The headliner is two layers. One is velcro like about 1/8 thick. Under that is a dense rubbery layer. Probably like the mats people buy when "enhancing" their Broncos for better sound.

Friend of mine talked the dealer down to $63k on a fully loaded Badlands. Some dealers have the clogging up the lots.

I assume your friend would be working to get the price down from MSRP too?

Yeah, he will try to work out the best deal he can, if he finds a Badlands he likes and could get it at the same price as a Black Diamonds MSRP I am sure he would go that route.

Edit: I just know from my experience in our area, finding exactly what you want is not that easy so that's why I suggested ordering one, but who knows what may pop up on a lot.

One thing you cannot get on a Black Diamond is the signature LED lighting. Big Bend you can.

Non sasquarch currently the Blaack Diamond with locker tires and skids is the way. In 21 I got a Big Bend for cloth, wheels and grille and added the above. Now they're both MGV with alum wheels so .....

Well it would seem I answered my own question. 1 dealer website is showing molle seat backs.

I have pretty much the same BD build. No tow but 2.7. I haven't looked at the prices lately and am shocked a '24 is 9k more than my '22.

Here’s the differences as far as I can tell
1. Plastic rear bumper on BB
2. BB can get signature lights, BD cant
3. BD can get black painted hardtop, BB cant
4. BD has rock rails
5. Plastic skid plate on BB, steel on BD
6. Different grilles

That might be a 2024 job 2 thing because my 1/6/24 built Big Bend definitely has them just as my Job 2 2023 Big Bend did.

I was in the same situation when deciding on my order. I couldn't justify the price gap when I planned on changing the wheels and tires on a BB anyways (basically a wash price-wise), and ordered the 4.27 locker, SD hardtop with a couple of other things.

I went BB because I can probably make up the BD stuff in the aftermarket.

Curious as to why you showed a charge of $1400 for the 2.3 motor on the BB? It is the base motor.

There are a TON on deals to be found on the lot. High $50’s-$60’s is a lot of money.
