How many miles per gallon are people typically getting? I didn’t buy it for its fuel efficiency but I see people posting anywhere from 20-30 MPG. I’ve had the Bronco since April 8th. I haven’t gotten anywhere near 20. The best was 16.8. I’ve tried normal and eco mode on different tanks of gas. I don’t drive it hard ever. Rarely any quick accelerations. Mostly drive it around town and not many highway miles. Just curious if it starts to get better gas mileage after driving it for a longer period of time.
I have a 2DR Badlands with the 2.3L and a manual. I run 91/93 octane with stock tune in normal mode.

The primary cause of low MPG in the bronco is that it's a rolling brick, and gas uses goes up exponentially with speed.

If I keep it under 50mph, I get about 26-28mpg
At around 65, I get 24
At 75, I get 22
At 85, I get 20
At 85 with a 30-40mph headwind, I get about 13-15mpg, hah

I've got a 24 2.7 4dr wildtraks. All day long at 19.8-20 running reg gas. Premium boost performance. These figures are running it in normal drive mode. Eco means nothing.

Funny, but my 2 door base and my wife's 4 door SAS get about the same, give or take 1mpg.
If you had the same driver driving the same course in the same controlled conditions, the heavier 4-door SHOULD get worse mileages. They'll be close, but there should be a difference.

Should.

Of course, as with all mass-produced things, there will be some outliers. It's possible you got one or two of them.

I have a 23 Wildtrak with aftermarket bumpers, skidplates and a winch. After replacing my stock tires with wildpeak AT4 I average 14.75 after adjusting for speedometer being off. I need to download a app to track mileage using GPS if that exists.

Indeed, should! Lots of factors. She's also more around town and I'm more highway miles, which makes it even weirder. Anyways, we're both very pleased with what we're getting!

My total 8 month aggregate average is currently 19 mpg. Driving through hills if if western NC/eastern TN dragged it down to 18.2 for a week or two, but now my normal fairly conservative driving has it back up to 19 mog. I've never broached 19.2 on aggregate, but clearly, if I was down as low as 18.2 and am now at 19, it is possible to get 19.5 from tank to tank. I'm typically in either Eco or Normal mode.

Planning on done mold trail running tomorrow (regardless of rain) that will likely dip me below 19 ... but, I don't really care. It's about the fun time bonding with the vehicle moreso than saving a nickel. Topped off the fuel today in the Bronco, prices seem to be down in my parts of SC by ~40¢ to 50¢/gallon.

Mine is very up and down depending on the variables, as all cars but its a big difference. It also depends what model and upgrades you have, steel accessories and bigger tires add up. Stock V6 big bend i was getting like 22-24 on flat highways, now with 34s, 2" lift, still stock plastics bumpers, i get about 20mpg on flat highway, but like 14mpg around town. And I drive like I still own a camaro so. But add weight or uphill and mpg drops fast.

23 Heritage Edition 2 door 2.3 manual.
Charted fuel economy since new, currently at 57k miles.
Speedometer fixed to match gps and radar.
99% of the time I am running 89 octane and sport mode.
This is around town, interstate, off-road, and towing.
Best fuel economy is 45 mph on secondary roads.
Worst was towing back to Alabama from Colorado on the interstate.

Got just over 18 last weekend going down to Tucson and then Bisbee the following day - I was ecstatic! Took the back way where speed limits are 65 or less. Anything above 75 with squatch starts to really reduce mileage.

Probably due to the refrigerator-like aerodynamics of the rig. I'm talking large sub-zero like fridges here.

I'll sometimes drop into single digits when wheeling, but that's expected. The single biggest thing I do to improve mileage is drive the wife's car instead!

20.2 MPG on a 4d 2023 Black Diamond with 35s and the 2.7.

90% freeway miles if I had to guess. It's the road trip vehicle.

Do you note a significant increase in mileage with 91/93? Have you run your own comparisons or do you just run 91/93 by preference? I am used to the aerodynamic brick thing with my last serious 4x4 (Defender 110) so I know how t drive with that in mind. I do run 87 but only the good stuff (Shell chevron)
