  1. FORScan vs Flashcal+

Neither is an official Ford product. Forscan lets you fiddle with most anything in the car's computer that can be changed, but requires a lot of deep knowledge and manipulating computer encoded settings. Requires a significant amount of computer knowledge, but it's much cheaper. Flashcal+ is...
  2. Build Advice - First Time going in to a Bronco

4A is a great point for those that drive on ice/snow covered highways. The builder says you can get it on a BB with BD though. Only with SAS with Base and OB
  3. SURVEY: Are 8 GOAT modes necessary

I used to not use goat modes until I was informed that there are different traction settings (more than just on/off for the hero button) in each mode.
  4. Build Advice - First Time going in to a Bronco

Aye, meant to say that you can get 4A with the manual, not that it comes with it by default.
  5. 4A acting like 4H, binding while turning on dry pavement

My '03 explorer didn't even have a 2H mode. It had only 4A, 4L, and 4H. It went 200k miles with no problem, other than being somewhat annoying at times. If an ancient 4A system works fine being engaged 100% of the time with no option to disengage, I'm not worried about a modern one on dry...
  6. Build Advice - First Time going in to a Bronco

There are a lot cheaper ways to get 33" wheels and SAS flares than buying a Badlands with thousands in equipment that you will never need, and only cost you money upfront, in maintenance, and in gas. If I were buying a Bronco for highway travel and wanted 33s I would absolutely just go...
  7. Build Advice - First Time going in to a Bronco

4A comes with the manual, at least in my '24
  8. Bronco Raptor hater poll (Keep it friendly:)

    - No manual - Too many doors - Silly Fenders - Way too wide - Way overpriced
  9. Washing with well water - how are y'all avoiding hard water?

In your situation I'd use a waterless wash system. Meguiars/etc. all sell kits. It's just spray on/wipe off type cleaning.
  10. Anybody buying motor oil in bulk?

I usually use Pennzoil Platinum, because up until some idiotic decisions were made I was able to get it for $25/5qt. Now it's $45. Luckily I bought 10 jugs a few months ago though I've used 4 for routine changes already. I'll probably stock up on some Costco, which high quality, while I can...
  11. Vehicle Colors, or Lack Thereof

I'm a blue guy. I looked the other day, and Ford has pretty much removed any decent blues. They are all vaguely bluish greys and teals. Heck, I hate grabber blue but they even nixed that in favor of .. grey. The only Mustang you can get a decent blue (Argon Metallic) on is the 106k+ Dark Horse...
  12. Vehicle Colors, or Lack Thereof

Do they have a crane to pluck the desired vehicle out?
  13. New California Replacement Tire Standards [⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yep, Colorado along the front range (i.e. where most of the people live) has similar problems (2/3 of days this summer have been heavy smog even far from Denver) and I'm quite glad we finally adopted some of California's regs built specifically to combat that. Are those regs perfect? Hell no...
  14. New California Replacement Tire Standards [⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

There is a massive disparity in how self sufficient various states are, and how much they give a damn about the environment. California is not only self sufficient, but also sends a massive amount of money to other states. You can go to, say, Wyoming and get much cheaper gas, because...
  15. New California Replacement Tire Standards [⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Well, like I said: all those things add up to you being able to breath air that isn't highly toxic .. while still getting to enjoy things like Broncos.. and Broncos that use about 1/3 the gas they used to. Why is that "crazy"?
  16. New California Replacement Tire Standards [⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

There are a lot of things that have affected the price of CA gas since 1988, not just the special blend gas they started requiring. Everything from taxes to a massive population/demand increase.
  17. Acceleration of 2dr 2.3L Sasquatch vs 4dr 2.7 L Sasquatch ?

Some places around me it's similar (including some places where on ramps are UP hill, ha), and it's rare that I ever have to put pedal all the way to the floor to get up to speed. When I was in college I was driving a Jeep Cherokee with a 115 hp motor.. which at my altitude and the age of the...
  18. New California Replacement Tire Standards [⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Those fuel blends started being used in the late 80s or early 90s no? When a 10 cent difference would be about a 10-20% difference in cost.. like it is today. No?
  19. New California Replacement Tire Standards [⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

On the plus side, you're not breathing this air anymore:
  20. New California Replacement Tire Standards [⛔️ ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Sawdust is a known human carcinogen. It's why woodworkers have vacuum systems to collect and contain sawdust these days instead of just letting it float around in the air. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK590780/ Prop 65 is poor law, though it's intent was good. Usually if the company...
