LOL yeah itās a b*tch to put on. Didnāt help that my brush looked like part of the bristles had a major stiffy.First thing I saw on that relay was the liquid tapeShit is annoying to apply but once you get a good five coats on there it feels pretty safe.
The relay certainly has a reassuring clunk to it when that sucker turns on. Something I thought of while researching 500A diodes-I built a little jumper lead that can bypass the relay and fuse if need be, just in case either of them goes down and we still need the winch. Just 1/0 that can reach from the terminal block to the discharge side of the fuse. Keep it in the bronco toolkit, just in case.
Glad I thought to put a towel down before starting. More glad most of itās hidden from public view. BUT it was the best tool for the job and got it done. I applied a few coats last night and added some more today. I probably didnāt do myself any favors leaving in my garage. We got snow earlier in the week but it managed to get to almost 50 yesterday. I had the garage open, it felt like a heat wave.
Speaking of useful tools, bought a set of flex head ratcheting wrenches, mainly for those MT4x4 reinforcements. The 13mm paid dividends on that relocation bracket. Itās a real b*tch to reach all loaded up. Will buy some cheaper HF variants for the trail tool bag.
And yes, mine has a distinctive clunk to it as well. Good idea on the bypass. I may consider that too. I have some left over wire. Hmmm.
