Does the prewired trailer connection do anything?

Module for LED lights (they make a different one for non-LED Broncos): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D99S8K3R?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_28&th=1 The black flying lead wire in the kit does need 12V, I used the spare aux-switch wire hidden behind the passenger side quarter-panel cover (so an aux switch turns on module), but there are other wires than can be tapped into (like the 12V lighter plug). So I guess it is not true plug-n-play as I suggested.

Hitch: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9NPWBQH?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_7 :

Biggest pain of the job was removal of the OEM hitch cover (to install the Curt hitch), it requires the removal of 2 long bolts that either can be cut via a grinding wheel or pulled out after removing the bumper.
That Amazon listing stops at model year 2024, I wonder if that's intentional or just needs updating? It looks like a complex kit with yards of wire, not what I think of as plug and play.
I mounted the hitch receiver today and exposed the dead end plug mounted on the bumper, I envisioned a simple connection to that plug.

No yards of wire, you unplug OEM harness inside each taillight housing & plug this into each harness. Only tap needed is the black wire to 12V constant. Other set of wires you see in the pic is the actual trailer plug

I have a single plug that's not plugged in to anything, mounted where the hitch goes, what do I do with that?

I left that untouched.

I think I'd like to spend some time with a test light and see what's available at that plug, or has someone already done that?

No idea what is active on that plug without Ford performing the trailer programming?

From what I've read, Ford has to program that plug (as if it came with the tow package). But I never put a meter on it to confirm what I've read

I went to my dealership service department to schedule install of hitch and wiring and was told they don’t do that and gave me a number to another non-dealership location. So much for programming by Ford. ????

Why did they tell you that? I thought only Ford could do the programming? Did you put on your own hitch and maybe that's why they said that?

No I went for them to install everything. I have no clue why they wouldn’t do the install. I was under the same impression that Ford did the programming. Only thing I can think of is maybe they would bypass the factory installed plug and wire into taillights and run a 12v power wire to battery. 🤷‍♂️

I'd find another dealer. My Bronco was held up because I wanted the tow package. My dealer offered to install one so I could get my Bronco quicker.
