It can't be bought, but it's glorious when pulled off.

You can prove it yourself. Go do 10 0-60 pulls back to back and it will get progressively slower each time.
its easy to see you just need to track / log IAT which directly impacts performance levels. I did a ton of this back in 2013 when Ford first starting putting these stupid shudders on along with inefficient cooler sizes. The before / after effects are fairly big depending on outside air temp.
Look, I don't doubt basic engineering that persistently elevated engine and turbo temperatures harm performance. My claim rather is simply that I've not seen any data from the aftermarket that an aftermarket IC can either provide power gains nor prevent power losses.

If you don't have good skids (once upon a time/from the factory) and occasionally offroad like a careless idiot (👋), this, THIS is what's wrong:

You don't put fragile ish in harm's way.

Or you're Ford, and you DO!
OK, that makes sense...

Great information, and I've done tons of research on all three (Cv, Mishsimoto, Whipple) and looked at their specs. It seems all are fairly close in outlet temp, +core volume, +fin surface area, and better air flow (assuming you believe the engineering results). I think I'm going with Mishsimoto for my 2.7L. Not sure what I'm going to do with shutters (leave them on or off), but it seems leaving them on is counter-inituitive to less resrictive air flow.

Hanging in there for a possible Black Friday deal.

Check out CPE also...very robust and allows you to keep grille shutters if you want to do so.

Ford always puts too small of ICs in and they suffer from heat soak. Also the shutters were in my way, a winch fits perfectly in that spot without sticking out like everyone else.
Yes, a history that dates back to the 1984 SVO with it small intercooler placed directly above the exhaust manifold.

Side note, back in my 2.3T days I chopped up 3 of those ic's, welded them together (ok, my brother did the aluminum welding) and made a mega intercooler.

Even had internal baffling to ensure even air distribution.

Looks stout. Any performance specs? Didn't notice any on their web site.
