I'm looking at buying a small teardrop trailer. There are so many threads on what the Bronco can tow but people seem to disagree if it can actually tow up to it's rating.
I'm just hoping to find a yes or no from someone with the knowledge to let me know if I can tow this specific trailer, the Sunray 149.

https://sunsettrailers.com/sunray-149/

It is 2,260 lbs dry plus 225 lbs for a full fresh water tank with a 3500lb GVWR.

The hitch weight is 220lbs which I imagine you add 40lbs for the propane tank.

Even if my wife and I find a way to add 500lbs in clothes and food (which seems silly), the weight of the trailer should still be around 3000lbs (assuming my math is correct).

These numbers all seem to be perfectly acceptable based on manufacturer specs.
I have a 22 Badlands Sasquatch with the 2.7L.

Worth mentioning that I'm running heavier 37's (Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 37x12.5r17 on factory Sasquatch wheels).
I am also running the Fox Performance Elite 2.5 coilovers which allow me to stiffen up low and high speed compression... I'm not sure if that helps or hurts towing.

I'm not trying to be ignorant, I have done research, but it seems like there are some people in this forum who say "yep, Ford says 3500lbs", and other people provide charts on why you actually can't."
I'm hoping that by providing a link to the actual trailer I want and what my Bronco is equipped with, I could just get a yes or no from someone knowledgeable and experienced.

P.S. I'm aware that based on my gear ratio from the Sasquatch package that my towing capacity in factory form is actually 3260lbs:

Sounds like you’re doing your due diligence to make sure you’re covered legally if anything were to go wrong and lawyers were to get involved. Being under the GVWR and GCWR would really matter if that day ever comes. I once had a 1/2 ton truck with overbuilt leaf springs and airbags to support the camper. Although it felt very solid and had plenty of power, I was technically overweight and I always felt vulnerable from a liability perspective. I also once had a Jeep Cherokee that pulled our boat. Although we were under the weight ratings, it felt very unsafe most of the time. In my experiences…don’t push the limits. You will NEVER regret having more of a tow vehicle than what you need. If you want to keep the Bronco, pull as light of a trailer as you can find. Best of luck!

You would be amazed how fast 500#'s is added to a camper with simple everyday stuff. It's not just clothes and food. Battery, sewer lines and fittings, hoses, electrical cords, pots/pans, toiletries, towels, cleaning products, this list goes on and on.

That all said, I think you'd be fine with it as long as you stay conscious with what you load in it. One other thing, I see it has solar. Make sure you turn that system off when connected to the Bronc as it will back-feed. Some of the higher end solar equipment has voltage detection and will automatically shut it off, but not all.

You'll be fine so long as you keep the tongue weight under 350lbs.

I pull a maxed out Xpedition Voyager at 3500+. 2021 4 door Badlands manual trans. stock tire size. Two things: 1) Camping gear adds up so when you think you are fully loaded, scale it out. 2) Adjustable damping may help but preload and/or helper springs are what will keep you safe and in control while towing at the max. You are going to want some rake when not hooked up, so that when you are towing, you aren't dragging ass. The Bronco can tow, but the rear suspension from the factory needs some help. Safe travels.

Yes you can, safely. Just make sure you're set up properly.

1. Brake controller
2. Weight Distribution Hitch (properly set up to tow level)
3. Sumo Springs

The Bronco rear suspension is really soft. I'm running blue sumo springs without any spacers on my manual Badlands and they help when towing while keeping the ride feeling stock when unloaded. I had originally installed with a spacer and, while it completely eliminated the rear sag, the unloaded ride was too harsh so I took it out.

I'll eventually upgrade the factory hitch to the BRaptor version to get the extra bracing and structural rigidity but that's a bigger expense as it requires relocating the muffler to fit the supports.

you may want to consider a weight distributing hitch, i know some will say overkill for 3,500 lb trailer. But being close or at towing capacity it will help.
OP… you didn’t say 2 or 4 door. I would do this for sure if you have 2 dr. Can disconnect if towing the trailer of road

100” is a short wheel base

[edited to take out my incorrect note about trailer not having breaks - I didn't scroll the OP's link far enough to see that note]

In my opinion, you'll be fine without.
You're well within the weight ratings.
I'd check the actual tongue weight once you get it & have it loaded/set up, but I think you're still ok.

I don't condone going over the limits, but I see a guy answer every towing question on FB with a picture of him pulling a Mustang on an equipment trailer at like 7k total weight.
In my opinion, he's just handing a lawyer the shovel to bury him if he ever has an accident while doing that.

the specific trailer he's looking at doesn't have trailer brakes.

if you want to be really safe, you could do some kind of brake system on the trailer & add a controller / 7 pin to your Bronco. You'd have zero issue at that point.

You are correct sir. I didn't scroll down far enough to see that. Just based it on the picture, didn't look like it would have brakes.

Yeah, he should have zero issue with that trailer.

I was surprised to see that it had brakes, a lot of the small tear-drops don't. Actually a pretty cool rig.
