Car and Driver (Dan Edmund) does a Ranger Raptor suspension deep dive, and I don't think you can re-use the Bronco suspension, the connection to the LCA is different so you may need to change your shocks, regardless of them being OEM or aftermarket. It is a through-bolt system like the rear shocks. Or am I missing something?

If you already have aftermarket shocks like king/fox/radflo they can easily swap out the rod end for a different style and length.

Eventually once replacement shocks are available for the RR you theoretically should be able to swap those as well.

Looks like just need to remove the lower mount and replace with a straight through bolt like the rear factory shocks.

Or even buy a set of rear shocks and use them on the front, probably would want to swap springs as well, and double check compression lengths to see if their close...

Just curious, do you happen to have an updated parts/price list on the parts you pulled together for this build thus far? I've read through the thread multiple times and I worried I'm missing something. I don't have the knowhow or time to do this work myself unfortunately (really wish I did, but it just isn't feasible with the hours I work and 2 kiddos at home with one on the way), so I'm looking to gauge how much the Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor parts total up to so I can then call some shops about labor cost estimates.

I've been full go on a prerunner build and have a parts list ready for that with budgeted project costs, but receiving a lot of suggestions to go the route you and others are going with the Raptor parts. So I want to compare an estimate of total project cost of the prerunner kit vs the Raptorize route.

Thanks for all of the walkthrough on your project. It has been enlightening and a huge help. I'm very eager to get my build started haha

After losing a few teeth on the front ring gear inside the FDU recently, I've decided to try to stuff and squeeze a custom HP Super60 IFS center in the front. The 10" ring gear size should help the strength issue with 41" tires.

It's going to be a tight fit , Succeed or Fail, either way I'll post up my findings for all to see. The 60 center section should arrive sometime next week for test fit.

The finished product is hopefully going to look something like this picture

Also "beefed up" the 74weld rack cap with a real sealed roller bearing, instead of just a seal...this adds support to the top of the pinion shaft.this required machine work.

For those watching at home, It's more about pinion tooth engagement than ring gear size. More engagement meaning more ring gear teeth sharing the load of the pinion. Not sure what gears you are running to turn those 42's but something to consider to keep from going too deep to maintain strength. It's interesting on a traditional 9" where lower gears actually gain engagement to a point.

Curious as to your diff clearance once it's all said & done

Isn’t it also about deflection and the parts’, including the housing’s, ability to resist it?

I haven't broke the pinion, only the teeth on the ring gear... on both the front and the rear.

clamshell housings are notorious for deflection or case stretch under loads. the OEM rear m220 can withstand FAR more abuse than the m190 or m210.

The booties are awesome on UCA’s and the like, but mine haven’t really enjoyed being used on the knuckle for the tierod.

Any interest in making more of the steering rack goodies?

LOVE the D60 front diff. Really excited to see if that works.

So 32 spline dana 60 differential? To reuse the CV axles?

Super jealous you get to cut your Bronco up more.
No everything is going to be 35 spline,🤞 from the diff to the stubs. Custom CV diff stubs and intermediate shaft.
