This would be awesome news…I rather go 35 spline fabbed 9” over the spicer 60.
This is the response I got from Currie when I asked about a Bronco 9” back in July. Not quite sure of the response, Seems like there are more locker options for a 9” than just an ARB. What about a true trac or Detroit ratcheting locker? I have even run a spool on the street before. I have a 35 spline spool on the shelf.

I’ve run spools on the street myself. Not a huge deal but I would definitely prefer the selectable locker…..why can’t the factory locker wire be used to trigger the solenoid on the compressor and lock and unlock the lockers? I have 35 spline arbs on my 68 bronco and I’m happy with them.

I run Detroits in my 73. Tough and reliable - just need to learn not to goose it in a turn... Not sure about Currie's response re: available lockers for the 9". 🤷‍♂️

when I chatted with Loren Healy, He said they built a Ranger with a 9/10" 3rd member in the front...had to cut off and re-weld most of the suspension attachment points lower to make clearance for the bigger sized casting...for the front the 9" third member definitely would require serious modifications.

That is interesting since so much space is wasted with the clam shell cast iron design that a fabricated housing should fit.

I would anticipate the bigger issue being that rear lower control crossmember hitting the pinion and being in the way.

Sooooo it fits!!!
After much customization to the cast center HP60, AND minor trim to crossmember...I have got the SUPER 10" dana spicer (ECGS) HP60 to fit in the place of the original FDU. !!!

THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!!!

I spent most of the afternoon hacking and measuring and trimming the cast section down to as minimal as possible. Sooo pumped to get this upgrade underway.

Obviously it's far from done, It'll still need ring and pinion, E-locker, and new custom 35 spline inner stub axle and intermediate axle. So its probably 2 months away from being finished.

here b4 and after pics.

Will it need some kind of front support? It looks awesome! If you need to donate that ultimate to someone, I could be that someone!!😁
Also, next time you have some time snap some pictures of how you currently sit... I just like to look at it!!

Update....Suspension finished...16"+ wheel travel achieved with BRAPTOR arms...and ZERO heims or uniballs. ALL OEM ball joints! 73" track width (1" narrower than Braptor. )

Well , nearly a year of collecting parts, having custom parts made, overcoming numerous setbacks and the Suspension experiments are finally finished.

Many thanks to @87-Z28 , @TeocaliMG , @SierraBronco and @GreyZ for the technical details and knowledge.

To re-cap heres what the final setup uses on the front..

Braptor LCAs
Braptor UCAs
Custom FMI fabricated knuckle/upright
Braptor brake rotors and calipers
RC tie rod with Custom 4340 extensions
Custom chromoly UCA mounts
Lowered and narrowed LCA mounts
Custom Strut towers
2 ton unit bearings oem 6 lug with ABS tone ring.
35 spline 300m stub axles
RCV 60 outer 300m CV joints
935 inner 300m CVs
ORI gen 3 integrated reservoir struts 10" stroke
Braptor Sway bar

Ride height is set at 3" above SAS.
Compression travel increased by 1"
Extension travel increased by 5"

Overall, I am 100% happy with the results and the $ and extensive work was all worth it. The ride is nothing short of AMAZING. ! ORI struts are in a class of there own, totally adjustable in every aspect; spring rate, ride height, compression damping, and extension damping are ALL 100% owner adjustable and tuneable!
No Metal Springs! NO TIRE RUBBING!!! NO WHEEL SPACERS. NO BODY LIFT.

Heres a few pics during and after.
