Best fuse to pull to crank w/no start?

Yeah, Ford's had that feature for awhile now. After an oil change it's how I circulate the oil through the engine and filter on my 2010 Expedition, the wife's 2015 Explorer, and my Bronco.

Im almost certain you hold the brake in too.. just as if you were trying to start it.. only difference is, holding the throttle down to the floor.

I do this after changing my oil to fill the filter and hopefully create some oil pressure before firing off. If only we had an oil pressure gauge to confirm it on these..

Thanks all, it worked! (left foot on brake pedal, right foot pressing gas pedal to the floor), press start to crank, press it again to stop cranking.

Off topic somewhat, but anyone know why the powerstroke diesels don't have this feature.

I don't drive mine alot, just when towing or when my Bronco isn't available, so it sits. I would love to get the oil circulating on that beast before actually starting it when it sits for long.

i certainly agree it is useless to do this post oil change. Ones bearings certainly don't go dry from an oil change.

Now that said, could it be used to get a much more thorough oil change? Use the function with the oil drained and drain plug removed and couldn't you get a significant more amount of used oil out of the engine?

Perhaps then also using the function after such a complete change might make sense?

It just doesn’t have any diagnostic purpose for a diesel engine.
Using clear flood mode isn’t going to make a difference over just starting the engine. Both will take the same amount of time to build pressure.
