IMO getting a JBL stereo pair of powered speakers will sound absolutely incredible sitting outside the car at camp or lunch. I don’t really care about the audio quality in this type of vehicle.
I've been tempted to get one for my Jeep but the darned thing blocks the view out the back completely.

If you are doing a full replacement, speakers and amps, the 6 speaker system is actually easier. With the 6 speaker system you can get a full range signal from the front left and right channels.

For a full range signal on the B&O system you will may have a few options, but anything other than a simple speaker replacement gets tricky. For a full range signal you need to sum the front dash, kicks, and sub coming from the B&O amp, or intercept and decode the digital signal traveling to the B&O amp. A third option might be use Forscan to program it as if it had the 6 speaker system and grab the 2 front channels for input.

The Bronco and Sync 4 are pretty new, maybe Maestro will come out with an amp replacement model eventually. That would free up some options for "affordable" aftermarket upgrades.

With the B&O system, you'll likely need the NavTV Zen-A2B. That is, if it's anything like the B&O in other Ford applications. This should get a flat signal that can be tuned later. The price of admission is not cheap.

That is, if you want to try and amplify and tune your signal to your liking. Pretty sure they haven't done a Bronco yet but Five Star Car Stereo in Clearwater, FL does some great YouTube videos that cover some of this information. I watched a ton of them when I was interested in doing something similar in my F150 with B&O system.

Dean goes over quite a bit of what the B&O system requires in this video of an F150 -

I hear ya . . . and I was wondering about clearance under the Bronco seats . . . here I am more than 18 months after reserving mine and I have never even been in one!
You definitely need to visit one of the Bronco Off-Roadeo locations, if you have an order placed. It is an amazing experience. If you're pumped about the Bronco NOW. Wait until you put one through its paces at the Off-Roadeo!

I'm picking up my 2DR from a local audio shop tomorrow and was told similar things that the OP mentioned. I had them install a JL XD600/1v2 and HO112-W6V3. They wired the remote to Aux 6 so I can kill the amp and take the box out for extra cargo when needed which will be rare for me.

I asked about replacing the 4s and 6.5s and they said it would be a marginal if any difference. They weren't pushy but said adding an amp would be recommended with the replacement speakers. And noted the Zen A2B requirement to replace the B&O amp. So I'm going to drive it a while, then maybe replace the dash and rear pod speakers myself, a little more worried about the kick replacement. If I like it, great, if not, I'll consider the amp/Zen.

They recently installed JL vex pods for another customer's Bronco, without an amp replacement, and they were happy with the results, since that moves the rear pods up to 6.5s from 4s.

Here's some photos of my install. They did some dynamat and also quiet tape on the tailgate plastic pieces to help with rattle. They removed the stock B&O sub, and put the JL amp in its place. I hated the B&O sub.

I would consider myself an audiophile, I have a pretty nasty KEF THX speaker setup in our media room, just not sure I want to drop another $3-4K into the Bronco for this just yet. Hoping the sub upgrade is enough for a while!

The info OP posted from audio shop is 100% correct, if you want to completely transform your audio experience. If you want mild improvement at a very reasonable cost, change out the speakers.

Starting with speakers is a great option. Change them out and if you're happy with the changes, you are done.
If you want a significant improvement to sound and volume, you have to go MUCH further and it will get into $1000+.
As @BlueGhost stated, you have to sum the signals, amplify, etc to get there.

Just got our Bronco with Lux, if bass is over normal half preset we get terrible distortion/ panel vibration over volume 11. I didn’t see any comments on that. Anyone else have issue? Trying to understand if just the way it is or possibly a service visit / vibration dampening that can help.

Damn! $720? Nice integration for sure though.
If you want to do more than just a speaker swap, it's probably the way to go. When my Wildrak is built, I will start with the speaker swap.

Anyone here familiar with OEM Audio Plus? The design speaker upgrades around the car's acoustics. I've read and watched positive reviews on the systems but haven't experienced one myself. They are pricing however..

Here is their setup for the JL Wrangler.

I'd pay it. I just sent them a message asking about the Bronco
