Getting ready to install a 40" light bar and I see the circuit I want to use (highest amp) is AUX 1. Isn't that already in use by the Rigid lights from the factory?

I don't have rigid lights from the factory but maybe you opted for some aftermarket option. You could pretty easy reassign the switches though, everything is accessible under the hood near the driver side firewall.

Depending on the lightbar you go with you might want to run the power to the battery directly as it might be much for the OEM AUX wiring. Basically you power it via batter, and then run it to AUX switch of choice as it would purely by an on/off switch at that point (not sure if what I say is making sense).

Side note, I'm curious if the Raptor Rigid lights do go to AUX 1 from the factory.

The OP didn’t make it obvious, but he has a Raptor….. so all those that have commented prior on this thread (and don’t have a Raptor) don’t know that the Raptor Fog lights come wired to the AUX 1 switch from the factory.

I have included the info you need (which is different for the Raptor than the regular Bronco AUX switches.) AUX 3 has the biggest amp allowance if you need it for your light bar.

That's exactly what I needed to know! And it's my own fault for not stating at the git go that it's a 23 Raptor and since it's only a month old, no one else has worked on it. I installed some ditch lights that have an amber as well and used 2 for the lights and 4 for the amber, saving 3 for a light bar and then 5 for the amber. 6 will power the Valentine 1 and I'm all set (for now, we all know it's never done)I'm 75 now and been doing this since I put aircraft landing lights on the roll bar of my 72 Silverado 4x4. I have to get older but I don't have to grow up!! LOL

You can also use a lower amp AUX switch with a relay. The relay is connect in-line (the power side) with the device power connection to the battery. The lower amp AUX switch powers the "contact" side of the relay to activate it and turn on the device.

That can save your higher amperage switches for other options. Don't ask me what options, just "other" ones. Or when you finally get another amp-hog device, you can put the relay in then.

Exactly, the aux switches should be used to run relays, unless they are being used for low amperage accessories. For instance, I might run a radar detector or some low draw led lighting off the switch directly... But you don't want to run a 30 Amp accessory on a 30 Amp circuit, you want to be around 1/2 to 2/3rds draw.

On a 10A circuit, 5-7 amps is good.
On a 15A circuit, 7-10 amps is good.
On a 20A circuit, 10-14 amps is good.
On a 30A circuit, 15-20 amps is good.

It’s conservative, yes, but it will never blow under normal situations. However, it will absolutely blow before doing too much damage. Anything being run from a relay should either have a separate circuit breaker, fuse, or a fusible link.

Mount your V1 to the rear view mirror stalk with a Blendmount mount and power it there with Blendmount Power taps.

Professional installation with No need to waste a switch on it.

Good luck

My light bar only pulls 8 amps, so I put it on Aux3.

To answer your question, yes you can, I did it on my braptor. I had 2 squadrons wired to aux 1. One thing to note it is, if for whatever reason you use your high beams, aux 1 is disabled while using your high beams. Hope that helps.

Just had a Baja Designs S8 40" installed last week (along with my Trail Rax). Shop went aux 3 for the main light and put the glow light on aux 6 (which looks killer with the Raptor lights). Everything is working beautifully.

Or mount it on a BYOD rail and power it from the USB-C. They make an adapter now that works.

I use #2 to run my winch relay. #3 and #6 are still open and will be using #6 for my rear bumper lights at some point. I run #4 to my ditch lights, #5 to my big lights on a relay. As stated all the upfitter wiring is undersized.

I've used relays many times when amp draw was too high. In this case the draw is 10.2 amps so aux 3 with a 30 amp rating should not be a problem.
