New to ForSCAN, haven't even plugged in yet, and I already feel dumb. Where is the spreadsheet located? I couldn't find it in this forum.

It is a little intimidating at first but I recently jumped into it and found it really is easy to do. Definitely do a bunch of reading as it seems there are little tidbits buried in the various threads. Here's the thread with the spreadsheet and other info.

EDIT: Look at the different YouTube videos as well. Some changes you can make using the Plain english approach, while others can be done by, or may even require, changing values on the as-built line codes.

Ya I am definitely not doing that! But, I might have another solution. I was reading on a Forscan forum that if you have a paid license, the online support is pretty good, and somebody else was having a similar problem with IPC and the Forscan support people were able to get it to work for them. I think I will just pony up the $20 and give that a try.
A little late to this but can confirm emailing forscan support and having them send you and updated unreleased build of forscan will fix you not being able to write to the ipc. it fixed it for me at least

Do you have the 2.3 or 2.7L engine?

When I emailed Forscan support about the PCM relearn issue the following was their response.
"If Bronco has 2.3L engine, we have no securtiy data for this PCM yet, sorry. If it has 2.7L, it should work, please try this latest test build:"
Mine is a 2.3L so I will have to wait.

I've looked through the forums here and various places online. I have installed the OEM Trailer Module (TRM) located in the left rear quarter panel that controls trailer lighting based on CAN messages from the bus. I have verified that the Ford Accessories brake controller works. I have hooked up to a trailer with the 7-pin connector and I know that all of the lights work, battery charging works, and (as stated) brakes work.

My questions are:

1. If I have activated sway control in the APIM and can see the option now in the features/towing menu of the SYNC 4 system, does the ABS module also need to be updated? Early on, I saw speculation that sway control was already activated in the ABS module. My basis for questioning this is the fact that the APIM can be flashed to show the option for Global Windows Up, but until the door modules and body module are flashed, Global Windows Up will not work. Just don't want the false sense of security seeing the Trailer Sway Control option ON in the SYNC 4 menu, but not actually functional.

2. My rear parking aid does not automatically disable with a trailer connected and transmission in reverse like it is supposed to (I read that somewhere). I know it is easy enough to push the parking aid button and turn off the entire system, but I have come this far and want to complete the OEM functionality of the system.

If you made it this far, thanks for your time and any assistance you all can offer.

I can do an AB compare of a vehicle with and without the factory tow package and see if the ABS module does highlight any differences.

Regarding the rear parking aid, I believe that might be a setting in the BCM and can poke around to verify

I have been comparing my VIN as built information to a VIN that I pulled from AutoTrader a couple of months back. For some reason, I can’t pull the window sticker for that other Bronco to verify package level. I know it is the same transmission, same trim level, and obviously with the tow package, but don’t know about any of the other options. There are some differences in the ABS as-built, and the tear tag numbers are the same between the two as-built files. I’m wondering if I just copy over the ABS as-built from the other Bronco and see if that works, but how do you test for sway control functionality without getting too crazy? Lol I did poke around in the BCM options and there was nothing related to disabling rear park aid with trailer connected.

Thanks!

This screen captures shows the difference between my VIN (in Blue) and the vehicle equipped with factory towing (green). Though it is not the complete ABS module comparison, all of the differences are captured.

I found no differences in the ABS. I did find several differences in various modules though. I highlighted in bold all the options that would be on a vehicle from the factory with tow package. This is everything I could find and pretty much wraps up anything that should need to be changed. The reference vehicle with tow was a Badlands Lux and the reference vehicle without tow was a First Edition, since it was easier to find a VIN for those and they are identical hardware/software-wise to a Lux Badlands

Below are the settings in the BCM

726-01-02xx**xxxxxx--Park Assist Trailer Connect: 00=Disable 01=Enable

726-40-01xxxx**xxxx--Outage Trailer: 00=No Outage 01=Outage

726-69-02xxxxxxxx**--Trailer Tow Modules: 00=Absent 01=Present

Below are the settings in the IPC

720-03-02xx*xxx--0 =Trailer Sway Indicator: 0=Disabled 4=Enabled

720-07-01xxxxx*xxxx--Trailer Brake Controller: 4=Disabled C=Enabled

Below are the settings in the APIM

7D0-01-03
xxxxxx*xxx--0 =Trailer Settings: 0=Disabled 4=Enabled

7D0-01-04xxx*xxxxxx--0 =Trailer Connector: 2=Not Present 6=7 Pin

7D0-09-02*xxxxxxxxx--0 =Trailer Sway: 4=Off C=On

Also I am attaching an image of the differences in the IPMA but I don't have a decode of it that can tell me exactly what the changes are. I believe it refers to BLIS though (makes sense if you have a trailer). So you can try these changes if you have issues. The D/F in the checksum (last two values in that line) can be ignored

Wow! So, I did make all the changes in the APIM you noted. I am going to attempt to program the IPC, but that one has given me trouble. I have the 2.3L and I seem to recall seeing something related to Forscan and security permissions with the 2.3L. I will look again in the BCM for those phrases, but will just go to the As-Built addresses manually if I don't find those descriptions.

This is a huge help! I appreciate it.
