Installed a JackSpania 3” catback and wow…it’s loud. Plan to make a video on it, but it’s the only exhaust I’ve heard on the Bronco where you can hear the turbos spooling down (end of video) of course wouldn’t be possible with the CVF downpipe. Not gonna keep it on long term…too loud for my taste.

Nice, sounds a bit loud for my taste as well..

Just wanted to add that i've got the Corsa full system + SPD downpipes and I always hear the spool down of turbos.. Sounds sick in parking lots but its there and quite loud spool down sound. Best thing is that on normal driving its pretty quiet and tame, opens up when you go past like 4k rpm.

Do you all not get a lot of rasp as you get on the throttle? I was getting HELLA rasp with CVF downpipes + magnaflow overlander until I added another resonator in the middle (straight through) - made it not fun to wail on the throttle going up hills - windows down made me frown not because of how loud, but because of the rasp.

Mines pretty raspy not gonna lie.. but only on like higher rpm and then the rasp goes away towards redline.. I've always felt it's kinda normal on specific engines once you change downpipes.. little bit of rasp is inevitable

Yeah it took a 16in (if I remember size correctly) Corsa resonator I added to an Injen system that has the same size extension pipe for 2dr to 4dr packaging to tame that rasp. I hate the rasp. Not sure if that’s normal for downpipes or if it’s just cvf ones

Working with CVF on a prototype high mount intercooler. It's very similar to the Wagner offering, but with the perks of it being CVF. Just installed it this past weekend, so haven't had much time to test it out, but it's got almost double the core volume as the stock FMIC. Unfortunately, it doesn't currently work with their charge pipes, so I plan to work with them on some adapters in the future. This one is definitely more work to install, but I recorded a ton of video and will have a step by step guide ready to go when it launches in the next few months. I'll post any updates on its performance here.

I was really happy with my wagner core. I also have a full write up posted somewhere here of installing it and have videos of the install to get together at some point. What did you do to close of your radiator shroud?

Yes, I saw @GI_Jo_Nathan post first and then stumbled upon yours as well. Both were extremely helpful. While the install took a lot more time compared to the drop-in FMIC, it wasn't hard by any means. I did have to trim quite a bit off the back of the shroud, but mostly around the center near the motor.

Do you run without the airbox all the time? I might give that a try.
I figured I’d give it a try since I had to remove it when swapping back to the stock charge pipes. It’s definitely louder and I’m sure during the hot summer months it won’t be ideal, but I’ll update the thread once I have more time with it.

With the JB4 tune it only reads post intercooler IAT. The pre intercooler IAT is tricked. If the airbox is a restriction it could make more power. Plus it would be way easier to service the air filter.
I monitor IAT/ACT temps with the ProCal. It lists ACT and ACT2. I was driving around today in 30 degree weather and noticed when in the boost my ACT2 temps dropped to 35 degrees. Only 5 degrees above ambient, which is impressive. I need more time monitoring temps to get a better picture.

I believe he was asking more about the gap at the bottom of the radiator shroud that pulled air through the stock intercooler. When the stock intercooler is removed the gaping hole creates a bypass around the radiator, which may be an issue in warmer months.

Ah, okay. I misunderstood the question. This is the bracket that has to be removed in order to install the High mount IC. It does contain a piece of foam that tucks up between the AC condenser and radiator. I figured since the radiator has a shroud on the top and both sides that would be enough, but if that's not the case then I'll have to look into a solution. I'll monitor my Coolants temps via the Procal. Thanks!

For what it's worth, my Mishimoto high mount reverses that piece and if I recall I had to put a new piece of foam on the other side. They also use plastic panels to direct airflow into the area yous are referring to. 😁

edit: pic of the plastic piece in between the IC tubes.

I reached out to CVF to let them know about this potential issue. We’ll see what they come back with. Coolant temps look good now, but it’s 30 something degrees here so it really doesn’t count. If CVF doesn’t build something to address this then I’ll make my own baffle. Really don’t wanna go back to the standard location Intercooler. IAT2 temps are amazing now.
