Well everyone thought I was nuts, including my dealership. 5 tops on my 2022. Ford buy back. Then I got a 2024, same issues with the top. Cut bait and traded with 800 miles. It makes no sense why Ford did not do the right thing in the 1st place! Make it make sense.

Yeah, the panoramic roofs consistently leaking and breaking and dumping water all over your dash, door and floorboard were not enough to warrant a recall. Only when the glass spontaneously shatters does it warrant a recall, lol.
Spring loaded center punch and .... spontaneously shatters

Take this with how much salt you want. I’ve been going through the process of having Ford approving replacement of my hardtop out of warranty since January.

My dealer has been great and I’ve been loyal with them which helps. Rather than sharing costs with Ford on the over $12k total replacing everything through parts, they got them to agree to allow replacement through Ford Accessories which, as many know, is far less expensive and come with everything together already. The issue was that since it took until later February for approval and negotiations on shares, the accessory too went out of stock. They put in an emergency order. It still shows as out of stock but I was told the top arrived yesterday.

Obviously this was all pre-recall. So this week I reached out to the Ford rep and said I really don’t feel like I should pay my share now that it’s a known safety recall, since my VIN is in the build dates. After some back and forth they called back and told me, they can’t adjust shares because right now it looks like. It’s not going to be the entire top that’s part of the recall, she said that after she went asking around it appears the recall will only cover the top portion of a component not all of the panels. I know the trip part of the cargo she’ll always looked like a separate part but unsure if it could actually separate. So her suggestion was given that my dealer got the approval to use the accessories top as replacement, which is not common, this is a very good deal and if the recall does cover more than what she is being told, then I might recover reimbursement.

So if you made it this far the short story is apparently the only part of the recall may be the top portion of the cargo shell and they may be replacing just the top portion. Again not sure if I believe that or not.

I got a text message (from the dealership) the other day notifying me to schedule an appointment for the loose seat bolt recall. When I called to make an appointment, the rep informed me that I have 3 open recalls. The loose bolt, the fuel pump and the hardtop. I was pleasantly surprised about the hardtop, as a couple months ago I noticed the "clamshell" top panel is cracking. I've been looking at options. Now I'll at least get to try a new OEM hardtop--eventually, as a solution is not available yet.

My 2Door is a "Dirt Mountain" Bronco. Manufactured in July 2021 and finally delivered October 30th, 2021. I was lucky and had to wait only a few months. My Bronco is not garaged and has been exposed to the cold winters and hot summers of Utah.

Taking my '21 in next week for the TSB 21-2262 as I started throwing a P0304 code.
I'll see what they have to say about the 3 or 4 recalls mine has on it. This will be the first time it's been to the dealership in 4+ years.

I took my 2dr hardtop off permanently 6 months after I took delivery. Been sitting in corner of garage. Will suck if I have to reinstall it just to have it examined by my dealer for recall purposes. Hmm my dealer does house calls for oil changes and maintenance maybe they can just send someone here

I have a July '21 build that hit dirt mountain, deliver 11=26-21. Sticker in MIC say 'primer allied October xx 2021. One color mismatched panel, very slight snakeskin, no cracks, no delamination and mostly garaged. I'll bet recall ends up being an inspection with pretty restrictive replacement rules for blatant separation issues. That said, since it's a safety recall if delamination occurred anytime in the future they would fix it.

I'm in the minority, but I like my MIC, the color/texture is a perfect compliment to A51. If they offered me a MIC or MOD (prefer Carbonized Gray please) I'd take it though.
Got my letter today!!! Looks like I'm getting my painted mod (Wimbeldon White or Carbonized Gray please) with a gunners hatch too!!! JK.

Right now I'll just be happy with a fuel pump, thank you for your attention to this matter
