To me this model no longer works. Things cost so much now for the littlest things. This is also why the Ford warranties have been noticeably increasing YOY as well. For instance on my 22 Navigator Black Label I had both front headrests stop working. It has the massaging seats. The quote for each...
I know they sell the Ford PremiumCare warranties. I assume this is a different one? Is it only available to local customers?
Asking because I’ve bought my last two Ford PremiumCare warranties from them and this was definitely not covered for me.
It’s not and that’s how I got my insurance company to cover our Navigator’s windshield with OEM. Told them by only paying the amount for aftermarket they are not replacing with like kind and quality, which is the purpose of insurance. Had any aftermarket glass offered the sound layer, I would...
Take this with how much salt you want. I’ve been going through the process of having Ford approving replacement of my hardtop out of warranty since January.
My dealer has been great and I’ve been loyal with them which helps. Rather than sharing costs with Ford on the over $12k total replacing...
Everything is speculation at this point. Things I’ll look at are the hardtop “kits” on the Ford accessories site have not been available for quite some time. I was supposed to have mine replaced through Ford with one in February and the last update was supplier issues and available in May. My...
Maybe I’m more optimistic than I should be. Since it is focused on delamination and not cracking, I can’t see any other repair but replacement. They wouldn’t spend the time to cut out, sand down, patch etc if delamination is present, replacement is the only true solution.
Hopefully we will know...
Fair point looking at it from a safety recall standpoint. Either way it will be interesting to see what the remedy ends up being given they have it already. I know the hardtop on the accessories page has been out of stock for some time. Probably stocking them up for massive replacements...
Likely no leg to stand on unfortunately. They altered the top and Ford will quickly say they can’t prove the top they are looking at had the problems because they are covered. Even if you have photos of it before it was coated or painted.
This is why I wait wed it out in hopes something would...
Okay so the brackets are actually needed. Looking at the part number it looks like they include the alignment brackets anyway.
I just wasn’t sure if this was added later on since the first post didn’t mention them at all.
On the first page those reinforcement brackets with alignment brackets were not mentioned as required. Is that still fact and those are just more for making the install go easier?
I was also given the attached brackets with the soft top I bought used locally. I can’t find them online. Any thoughts?
What did those parts end up being for? I also just got a used soft top and this was in the parts bin and nothing is linking to the actual part number stamped on it.
