SURVEY: Are 8 GOAT modes necessary

Another Sport only user...I do see Eco when I'm dialing to Sport and have to laugh...for my normal off road (service trails, short span of dirt or mud, creek crossings) I do put it back to normal.

I recently added Sport to my '21 BL. Driving the MT didn't think it would make any difference...I was wrong.

It remaps the pedal. That's it. Doesn't make Bronco faster or more responsive. In theory it makes the steering stiffer but I can't feel the difference.

In an automatic, I would use nothing but Sport because of the improved shift mapping. But if you row your own gears, all sport does is make the pedal annoyingly touchy.

The other big bennefit of Sport is you don't have to hit the AS/S button. But AS/S never activates in normal driving while driving a stick either.

I don't have a reason to not use the goat modes.
They're a good starting point in their particular situation.
I try to use the tools at hand.
Once goat is engaged I can adjust it as needed, if needed.

I like the one pedal and cutting brake. They're like hydrostatic and individual wheel brakes on a tractor.

I dont have sport mode but I'm sure putting 80% of pedal into the first 11% of travel might be important if I didn't want to push the pedal 80%(this is how it seems to be described here... butt feel due to less ankle work)

I use Eco to teach my wife stick. Since it makes the accelerator much less sensitive, she's not over revving it. She is still in the mindset accelerator=go instead of let off clutch=go.

First time I took it on to the beach for a surf fishing trip I selected sand. Totally a waste. Higher rpm for no reason. Used good old four wheel drive with the air down tires…..nice.

That’s fair. I had my 2.7 auto in mind when I wrote that. In my Bronco, it’s transformative. The first time I used it on a twisty backroad with climbs and descents, it was a revelation.

I can't fathom why anyone with an auto wouldn't drive it in Sport mode all the time.

If we knew as little as the majority here who simply ride behind the steering wheel instead of actually commanding the bronco...
That goat mode might have saved us... high revs be damned.

I’m surprised by number of comments about not using GOAT modes. But honestly, I don’t either. Is this over engineering by Ford or an inexpensive reliable feature to cover all potential users. Some are almost interchangeable by selecting 2WD or 4WD like sport/Baja. I've also seen comments that Eco does not get any better mpg around town than normal.

Eco does shift smoother than normal.
