How Often Are You Guys Actually Hitting the Trails?

I'm BACCCKKKKKK {tangent: realized I have not checked into the forum in 4 months or so. kindney stones that almost put me in the hospital (ouuuuccchhh!), then my father-in-law had a heart attack and a recovery that required personal attention,so I just got out of the forum habit...I probably should stay out of the habit }

I lead a trail for my local club about once a month, so 1-4 or 5 preruns are included plus I often just hit a trail with my daughters (lately getting up in altitude to beat the heat) as well. Also I have BLM "desert access" just down my neighborhood street, so I get my dogs out on two tracks (which are honest level 3.2345 at points - 4 wheel drive or 2wd with occasional locked rear axle is necessary) 6 days a week for a hike (their exercise and mine).

I have a neighbor with a 23 Wildtrack which is a mall crawler - been on the sand at the lake once she admits. I will be picking up such an example when mine is no longer fit for purpose.

Hey @suparee, that Outerbanks in the photo needs some more tire - the angle of that pic really shows off the dis proportionality...I think the rail accentuates it (combined with bumper/lights), steps as well would put look/purpose back in proportion...Just my 1.5 cents.

Sometimes 2 times a week and sometimes I miss a month. I go as often as I can even if it’s just a shortcut across the county I take the trails.

When I lived in Colorado (pre Bronco) every weekend since the places to wheel legally were everywhere.
Here in SW PA, in the 18 months I've had my Bronco I've been a handful of times (including one trip back to Colorado and Moab) because anywhere to legally wheel near me are all a few hours drive away. In the wintertime here my driveway helps make up for lost 4x4 time

At least once a weekend. Usually either a high clearance 4x4 road for the less crowded hiking trails, aimlessly driving around forestry roads, or hitting actual named trails. Last weekend I was put-putting around Jones Pass in the middle of a storm... so kinda dumb on my part. This weekend, camping out somewhere around the White River area to explore the trails there. Hit Moab in the Spring. Hitting Moab again in the Fall.

I want to be @userdude, unfortunately us mere mortals can't be that... I get 8 to 12 good runs a year and about 15 to 20 weekend forest excursions that may or may not need 4x4.

Not as often as I'd like. I live on Long Island so there are no trails and the beaches are controlled by nazi's here in NY. Have the state beach pass but it's a PITA to use if you don't plan ahead with all of their requirements. Have to find some nearby upstate to check out.

Are you feeling better now? Kidney stones are seriously, seriously painful. I have a family member who went through it too, so I know how rough it can be. Hope you’ve fully recovered and everything is going well!

Since I moved into retirement I am 3+hours from any real trails so it is at least a two day trip that needs some planning and my old sick body makes it harder to get out there but try to hit something at least every couple months…meanwhile the local ocean and mountain roads in my model A keep me occupied…
