It shouldn't take 5 years to realize a corner was being cut. No one at FoMoCo does periodic regression analysis to see how things are holding up ... or what can be done better? Or, just to simple to copy, cut, paste, repeat?
Ford really needs to do some serious lessons learned groups during these painful high recall years. Only thing worse than fucking up is not learning from said fuck up

This truck has more recalls and known issues than all the other vehicles I've purchased new combined and that's a hefty number. I'll grant that many are software related those didn't exist on older vehicles.
It's the "known issues" that are not recall related like leaky rear engine seal, corroded coil packs etc.etc. that gets me. I think I'm going to set aside a little money every week for a "fix my busted bronco" fund......

lol like when they went in to fix the rotating rocks sound on the MT and now have to go back in to fix the fix due to improperly aligned trans to transfer case?
Exactly. Their success rate at first time quality hasn't been so great, so adjust expectations for the second time through. I'm not looking for a crap fix that is quick.

Oh yeah, sorry I should have added more context to my post. I saw your pics in the thread and put mine up as another point of reference / thought it might be interesting to show how those points differed between broncs.

I'm going to pick up some of that cloth wire harness tape and wrap around the exposed wiring on mine too, I think. Be a good opportunity to see if any wires close to the edge have any visible signs of wear on mine. Going from the two examples I've now seen, it seems like there is variation in which wires are likely to be adjacent to that edge as well as how much of the loom is exposed there.

Hopefully moving that tank out of the way won't be too much of a pain in the butt.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the service procedures end up being for this... bookmarked this thread for sure.

Cheers 🍻
While I appreciate all the great photos and analyses, I'm gonna hold onto my underwear until I see a TSB on Friday before I panic and start shooting at everything that moves. If the issue is simple, I'll remedy it myself. If it's serious, I'll let the Blue Oval team handle it when I'm next in their 'hood.

I wish there could be a recall on the toenail fungus ads here when I use my cellphone to access this forum.

"The remedy is anticipated to be available by July 31, 2026" that looks like fast turn around if they have the parts.

Refund for anyone with California emissions that paid out of pocket for transmission main control replacement/repairs due to an error in the warranty claims system a while ago.

I dropped my vehicle last week and it had 7 open recalls not including this one……so I guess I was up to date for exactly 1 day before I had another open recall

I find this article rather hard to stomach as the writer acts as if this is somehow a new or surprising thing.

MSN :barf: News Article
This reads like real dog water, but I can agree with one core concept - this is gonna be a fun one for service departments.
Since the wrap is not a "bolt-on" part it will also depend to some degree on which tech you get as to how nice a wrap job it is. I would not put it past a penny-pinching service desk to short tape to save a nickel.
