Really? So you actually know people anyone who LIKES auto-stop-start? They specifically "like" it? Not just "don't care" about it, or are indifferent, but they enjoy the feature enough to say they like it? Fascinating!
I guarantee there are people that don't know it exist and want the highest mpg possible. Just like there are people who don't know how many cylinders are in their engine or if it's fwd/rwd, etc.

I'll be honest. I don't mind ASS being on my vehicle. If it were packaged up a bit differently, I may even use it.

My big issue with it is that my choice about it isn't respected. It always defaults to On, even if I turn it off, and forces me to turn it off each and every time the vehicle starts. It really is just the fact that it doesn't respect my choice about it that really rubs me the wrong way.

I'd feel the same way about Auto-High Beams, or Cruise Control, or a bunch of other things - it should remember and respect my choices, not just reset to default each and every time. I mean, could go back to analog switches - they "remember" if you turn them on or off... even if you drain your battery because you leave your headlights on...

So now my '23 Badlands will fetch a premium if I ever decide to sell (I won't).
It has Auto Stop and your new '27 doesn't...Na Na Na Naa Nah.
Just have to find a buyer that likes ASS.
That will be easy. Who doesn’t like ASS?

With today’s deregulation in the EPA that lead the automaker’s implementation of the Auto Start/Stop feature, wonder if Dealers will begin disabling it upon request?
unlikely, especially in non-US markets like Canada, Europe and China where Ford still operates

This is why I don't expect them to get rid of DPF, DEF, AS/S, or go back to offering large V8s in cars and smaller vehicles. The rest of the world expects those features. Do I expect changes? Yes, I expect AS/S to remember the last setting, and it has been announced that being empty on DEF won't pull power until 1k miles past empty.

And the next administration is going to reverse 95% of these regulation cuts anyway. Auto manufacturers know this and expect this. Which is why I don't expect any of these features to go away.

And why would they worry about saving money by reducing content, when they can just charge more and people will pay it?

Can anyone that "likes" the ASS feature please point me to a study that shows how much fuel has been saved since its implementation and the overall net positive benefit to the environment?

I would also like to see that study, if it exists, compared to the environmental cost of implementing said device. I.e., Jeep adds a second battery to operate ASS, there is a button manufactured, shipped, installed, etc. in every new vehicle, the aftermarket has stepped in to manufacture a device to remember the last ASS setting, what environmental cost is associated with that device?

Major speculation in your second paragraph.

Not really. The current administration has already been sued over these regulation rollbacks, and the next one will likely be sued to reinstate them, if they don't do it right away on their own.

Unless you're insinuating there won't be a next administration, but that's going to get this thread shut down.

I personally didnt think it was a big deal just to hit the off button evertime started up, at least is was a button and not buried three layers deep in infotainment screens.

FP mode memory sure is nice. How the tiny details matter.

I am hoping at the minimum the Ford Performance tune reinstates the ASS disable for all year models, as I have a tune.
