So I’ve been kicking around the idea of replacing my yeti cooler with a powered fridge. The yeti 35 tundra I have is nice if it’s just me but if it’s me and my wife and we want to eat good it’s a bit crowded. Also have to be kind of careful with certain things to not get wet cuz of ice melt. I think Ive narrowed it down to an Iceco based on size that I am looking for and the 5 year compressor warranty. I also just REALLY like the oldschool ice chest design. Nice handles for using on the tie down points. The 35-40l capacity looks perfect for my needs and fitment in my 2 door.

Curious if anyone has any Long term feedback with one.

Did your go for a single zone or dual zone? What did you use the frozen side for? I can’t think of a use for myself but might be something out there I didnt think of aside from just being able to have ice cream while camping. 😂

Thanks for any help!

My sister has one and they used it to go out West this summer and several various trips. She said it was expensive but she would buy it again. I do not recall the brand.

Iceco has been recommended to me by a few people. Their prices are good, I don't know how good support is. Many states don't have an Iceco dealer. So you'll have to get support via remote control.

Dometic costs more but has an excellet reputation. There's a Dometic dealer within two miles of my house. I can get support through him. No messing with emails, text messages or phone calls. I'm willing to pay for that.

Igloo uses Dometic for the refrigerator/freezer they sell at Costco on occasion.

Have the ICECO APL55. In full transparency... it was sent to be for free in exchange for doing a video.

Cooler works fine, haven't had any issues with it at all. But it's definitely quirky. There are just things about it that are odd and don't make sense. For example... you hit the power button and it immediately shuts off. There's no "hold the power button for 5 seconds to shut off" function or anything like that—I just immediately shuts off. So if something accidentally bumps into it while offroading, or you have curious children who hit the red button, you may find your food has spoiled by the time you realize it's shut off.

Overall I like Dometic coolers better, but they discontinued the CFX3 series, which in my opinion was their best cooler when you weigh price with performance.

Take a look at BougeRV. I have multiple sizes. My 52qt Dual zone is nearly 5 years old with thousands of hours on it. Never a problem.

I have a BougeRV fridge as well. It's okay. The major complaint I have is that it has a pretty broad temp range. It's not caused a problem for me yet, but it's something I dislike.

I have ICECO jp40. It works. Mine is a single zone so but the bottom is always colder than the top so you kinda have to account for that. It does have a little refrigerated area at the very back top. We went out west with it and had no problems with it. I run an Anker from the center backseat console with the ice cup plugged in by 12 V. That way when I’m running around, the battery gets charged by the engine when I stop the fridge gets power from the anker.

Way better than having to deal with ice all the time and soggy stuff

+1 for the BougeRV. No issues. Several hours and trips on it. Some of those were considerably rough terrain and it still works and performs.
I've heard mostly positive stuff about the Iceco's too but no first-hand experience with them.

I’ve had an ICECO 35 qt for a few years with no issues. It is at a great price point. I had a Domestic of similar size before that which also functioned well. But the Iceco is definitely a better value currently. Single zone works great on trips and camping.

Have only tried ICECO. Going on 3 years now. Got a second, smaller one just for freezer along with fridge.
Nothing like having a a nice fire, and flame kissed steaks for dinner and then an ice-cream snack after.

The BougeRV has been knocked around for two years. Still works. However the 12v power cord that goes into the optional built-in battery comes loose when off-roading. At least there’s a loud “beep” I’m familiar with when the fridge turns off as a result. But it’s never been a problem. Stays cool for a few hours even if unplugged.

I have a larger one and it’s too big, but the footprint on the smaller units isn’t much better.

use it in the summer for groceries. I pair it to a small ecoflow battery so it can run even when I stop for lunch.

works great.

I’m a happy dual zone Setpower PT45 owner. Irregardless of the brand you buy, absolutely get a dual zone that has a lid for each zone. I usually keep the large compartment at 32 degrees and the small one at 14. Perfect for trips to Wally and Costco and stops along the way. But depending on what/where I’m doing or going, I may make both compartments freezers or both fridges.

After a year I added a small Bluetti power station which will power the unit for about twenty hours. Enough for overnight in a hotel parking lot and then back on the road. Or Costco, Wally, mall, dinner and then home. The Bluetti has pass through charging, so after a night of keeping things cold, the battery charges while driving.

Unit fits our purposes perfectly.

I have a APL 55. I have not used it much yet, so far only one issue. It does not sit level. I was sent a second unit that also does not sit level. This was resolved by adding a additional rubber foot as a shim. I believe this is a manufacturing defect and that ICECO is aware of it. Not really a big deal as long as the extra foot stays on. My only other complaint so far is that it's very big and heavy.

Their customer service is not great. Any communication will end with the statement, "I will have to get this approved by the sales department." This actually means that that issue will be sent overseas and the response will be delayed at least 24 hours. I tried to cancel a order five minutes after placing it. The request did not get processed before the unit shipped days later and I wound up paying shipping fees to return it. I suggest you purchase through Amazon to avoid this scenario.

Also, be careful choosing what size you get. The marketing photo's are very clever and it's hard to determine exactly how much the coolers will hold, especially the dual zone units. Look at the dimensions they provide and choose wisely.
