I’ve had a few over the years and long story short is I don’t think I could go back to a regular cooler after having a 12v fridge. I’ve had 3 over the last 10 years. I currently have an Alpicool T36 dual zone (5 years old) and an Iceco JP40 single zone (3 years old) They all have the same issues with a bit of temperature variation from bottom to top but it’s still better than a cooler. They could really benefit from a circulation fan. Door opening direction can be a big deal too. I’d recommend getting one that allows the lid to open in different directions. I forget the brand of my first one years ago but it was a cheaper single zone (very similar size and layout to my Iceco JP40) It was great and only got rid of it because it wouldn’t fit under the bed cover on my Gladiator. The Alpicool is short and long so it fit nicely in my Gladiator. I found I actually like the shallow design better because I didn’t have to dig as much for my food. The dual zone worked ok but not great. The divider is removable so it’s nice to be able to configure as needed. I don’t think I’d like one with a solid partition separating zones. The Alpicool unit is also pretty loud compared to the Iceco (not terrible but if you’re a light sleeper it’ll probably wake you up when it kicks on) We use ours for camping, groceries, we’ve stored medicine that needed to be kept cool but not refrigerated. They’re super useful!
