I'm planning a beach camping trip for the end of March / beginning of April. As part of this, I'll need to deflate my tires to 15-20 psi. This means I'll need to re-inflate them once we leave the beach. I currently have a Viair 88p digital compressor that I keep in the vehicle in case I need to top off any of the tires. Will this be sufficient to re-inflate my tires for this trip? If I decide to do more of this type of trip in the future, I can invest in a more powerful compressor, but I'd rather not buy one just for this trip unless it's needed. At the same time, I definitely don't want to get stranded with under inflated tires.

I wouldn't depend on the 88p to air up four tires. I'd look into something with 12v capabilities whether it's a cigarette lighter type or battery clamp type.

I just use a mini compressor took from Volvo. Have an extra one if your interested ...super compact and gets the job done.

The 88p does attach directly to the battery.

My bad, thought it was just rechargeable. It'll probably get you by...it'll just be a little slow doing four individual tires. May have to give it a break to cool off in between.

You'll be fine. Just make sure to have the bronco running since it'll take a while for all 4 tires to inflate.

Short answer: YES. That is fine. I used a ViAIR for many years before upgrading to an ARB Twin. The ViAIR will do the job. It'll take about 5 minutes PER tire but it'll do the job. Make sure you rest the compressor between tires as those compressors are not 100% duty cycle and they need to rest/cool down. Ask me how I know :)

If you plant to go on the beach a lot, get an onboard air compressor. 60 seconds or less per tire and it's always ready to go:

I bought the Viair “Digital EVC88P” and use it to air up my 33” badlands tires from 20psi back to 39psi. It’s not super fast since it is one tire at a time, but it handles the job without problems. It gets hot or course, but cools quickly and doesn‘t give up.

Usually beach’s are in popular areas with gas stations. Fill up at the gas station after your sand time is over.

It will pump faster with the engine running as well

Check your beach. Some have compressors at the entrance/exit. First time I went to a local beach, got my compressor out all proud of myself until someone coming in pointed to the air hose (in vivid yellow no less) right at the entrance!

Good point see compressors often even in Canada and it's three month summers, for blow up toys mainly but they work.
