According to my dealership, it was only covered by the remaining 3/36, and my 3/36 ended 1 month after replacement. The top didn't start showing cracks until about 4.5 months after replacement. Top was replaced end of February and I noticed cracks beginning of July.
And Ford knew better than to cover it under the Extended Warranties; sneaky buggers.

I’m on my 4th top. This last one has gone almost a year and a half without cracks. Maybe i got one of the good ones?
THERE ARE NO "GOOD ONES"!!!!!! STOP SPREADING DISINFORMATION!!! 😜 On a serious note, glad your 4th top seems to be trouble-free so far. Hopefully you'll continue to be in the club where the overwhelming majority of MIC owners don't have any issues.

I am hoping that multiple class actions across North America force Ford to actually do something like a recall where they replace the subject MIC tops with their painted hardtops or at least foot some of the cost to replace them.
Are there ANY existing or planned class action type actions that address the type of MIC cracking issues in this thread?

There's this one, 2021-2024 Ford Bronco Leaking/Cracked Roof Class Action Investigation, but it ONLY addresses "hard and soft tops" with improperly secured vehicle top clips that "allow for water to enter the vehicle during inclement weather, typically through the passenger-side A-pillar, though owners have reported leaks down the rear windshield".

Does anyone else know of any other semi-related class action type efforts underway?

Ford has been going down hill since idiotic-chinese-ev lover Jim Farley taken over. Today announcement to write off billions in EV loss when that kind of funds can be better channel to quality control and producing more exciting ice vehicles. Jim Farley fire yourself!

Ford did a write down NOT a write off. Either way though, they are both accounting procedures used to account for loss not "better channel" funds.

  • Write-down: This is an accounting procedure where a company reduces the book value of an asset because its fair market value has fallen below the amount recorded on the balance sheet. Ford is acknowledging that its EV investments are worth less than initially projected, but the assets (plants, technology, etc.) still have some value. The $19.5 billion charge is spread out, primarily in Q4 2025 and continuing through 2027.
  • Write-off: This term typically refers to declaring an asset as completely worthless or a total loss for accounting purposes. Ford's action is not a total write-off, but a significant devaluation of a specific business segment's assets and investments.

That law firm is in fact looking into these very cracks (as well as other issues).

Oh my bad must be a 19BN win that will be distributed to shareholders as a special div with Dec 30 exdiv date and payable on Jan 7 LOL.

Now the csuite bonus should be calmative $10BN because they did such a great job while declaring they will be market followers, not leaders.

Meanwhile Honda and Toyota showed supreme leadership and have not lost a dime.....

If any one thinks 2022 EV tech is still valid in 2026 let alone 2030 they're dreaming. The Canadians have already written off over $100BN in failed EV investments an it's the size of CA sure the land is worth 1% of the loss so I guess it's a write down LOL.

Good thing they are protected from CN competition.....

I was under the impression that a replacement top would be protected by any remaining time on the initial 3/36 warranty or a 12 month warranty.

There is a 12/12 warranty from the most recent/latest NVLW repair.

Just so I'm clear...my last top was covered under 3/36...I now beyond that but I am less than 12/12...so my top would be covered? If so, my question (for me) is...do I think a 4th top would be any better?

Not necessarily 12/12. The actual amount depends on the time and mileage of the last replacement.

But yes, if you’re less than 12/12 since the last replacement and are now out of 3/36, then there would be coverage according to this.

Wasn't replying to you, so not your bad... agree Ford is "accounting" for terrible decisions. Plenty of blame to share when pointing fingers though.
Ford has been going down hill since idiotic-chinese-ev lover Jim Farley taken over. Jim Farley fire yourself!
"Bill Ford is a member of the Ford family who oversees the company’s interests and those of the broader shareholder base. The family controls the company’s Class B shares, which gives them voting control of America’s second-largest car company.

William Clay Ford Jr. of Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) is our pick for the worst CEO in America for 2025.
He is behind Ford’s disastrous turn into the electric vehicle business. While the CEO on paper is Jim Farley, Bill Ford has run the company since 1999."

I'm the owner of the site (mentioned previously in this thread). I have to update the site manually, and was surprised at the number of submissions in the last 2.5 weeks.

View the glorious gallery of failed MIC tops here: https://fixourbroncotops.com/ford-bronco-mic-top-issues-gallery-real-owner-photos/

Seeing them all on one page, with such a wide range of defects, is quite shocking. The one commonality is the shitty MIC top.

FWIW I contributed to the greedy lawyers who are investigating this, including making them aware of the website. Who knows, maybe there will be a settlement and all MIC top owners will get a check to cover a cup of coffee! 😂

Took the roof in on a "good day," where it's hard to see problems, only days left in the 3-yr. It felt odd, but what the hell else is one to do? I gave them photos of the roof on "bad days" for the paper trail. It'll be interesting to hear what Ford thinks about this one. Trading in on a non-Fix-Or-Repair-Daily is sounding better all the time....

I still don't understand why you are only asking for a 5-year warranty. Some state laws provide for more than that (regardless of factory warranty).
