My dealer picked mine up this morning to do the hard top swap. What are you trying to get Ford to do for you? extend the warranty on this replacement hardtop?
No, I'm still under warranty and I don't need Ford to do what Maryland law already gives me. I'm looking at all other options.

Dropped my cracked MIC top off today (for the second replacement). At the dealership's suggestion I opened a case w/ Ford customer service and they couldn't help. They said that the hard top is considered an "accessory" (although it was obviously a build option and the only top I ordered; you sort of need at least one!) and so they are limited in what they can do. Not surprised. So, it'll be groundhog day. I'll be leaning into Maryland law past the 3-year factory warranty. Research your state's law.
So the 2doors are all required to have this accessory ?

You said you opened a case with ford customer service. what was the nature of the request/case that they said they couldn't help with?

Anyone have a direct way to contact the warranty claims department?

The Dealer has had my Bronco over 4 weeks now, I honestly don't know if it's the Ford end or the service advisor at this point, or both... I'm over this Bronco Sport they have me in, though I am happy to have something. I've reached out to Ford Customer service and have a case number but they are at a loss as to what the issue is too, though she did say I would qualify for some sort of financial assistance if it ever gets denied. I need a way to contact the actual people that approve the claims to see what the deal is, I'd just like to know where the issue is at this point. 🤦‍♂️🙄

I too waited until I was right at the end of my 3/36,000. Took it to the Dealer April 18th, who says no problem we've had a lot of these, I'll write it up and call you when we get the parts... 2 months later parts finally come in. Now the Service rep is telling me Ford is questioning why I waited so long, why it's taken so long to get the replacement, and sending a Ford rep out to physically look at the top before they will approve it 🤦‍♂️

I just wanted to wait as long as possible in hopes they figure it out, or break down and offer the painted top as a replacement option with an upcharge.

Apparently Ford already denied replacing my crumbling window switches claiming it's just normal wear

I am going to see the dealership August 15th. Had to push my original appointment out.

I went to the dealership today where I purchased my Bronco. The service tech referred to the service bulletin and said my hard top fits that.

The dealer has placed an order for a new back clamshell.

I was worried the dealer would try to fight the warranty claim, but it was pretty easy and straightforward.

I wasn’t aware they could order certain pieces of the hard top. I will be watching the other panels over the next year, to see if they start to crack at all.

Both times that I submitted a warranty claim I was able to have the entire hard top replaced. For cracks and/or bubbling on the rear clamshell, and for honeycomb on the middle and front panels. The GSB has a photo of the honeycomb that is covered and, quite honestly, I think all these tops have it new out of the box. I'm waiting for my new hard top to ship. Fuck the Ford and Webastard partnership. And fuck Ford again for not doing the right thing and replacing these tops with the new version.

I reached out to a class action law firm and received a prompt response. You may wish to do the same and fill out their form to receive information about the status of their investigation. Note that they currently appear to be focused on a leakage issue with hard and soft tops. But they also appear to be interested in learning about the MIC top cracking/bubbling issues, which could be treated together with or separate from the former leakage issue.

Thanks! I filled out the form. 2nd top is cracking, just like the first. The first one was replaced under warranty. It’s at the dealership now. I’m assuming they will replace this one as well, so that means I will be on my 3rd MIC top in 22,000 miles. I have a 2024 Wiltrak 4dr.

Just curious, how do these lawsuits typically end up?
If the law firm wins...they get millions... the consumer, a few bucks.

Seems absurd that they are still offering MIC tops on 2026s.

Here's more information, pictures, and easy ways you can get involved with this problem:

https://fixourbroncotops.com/
The problem I have with that website is, the site owner is asking for a 5-year warranty. But some state laws may already override the factory 3-year warranty and provide that or more relief under the implied warranties of fitness or merchantability. That's why it's helpful to involve lawyers. Hell, my Bronco is 3 years old and on its third top. A 5-year warranty would do me no good if Ford keeps giving me the same defective tops every time I take it in for a replacement.
