Looking to buy a Bronco this week. I get that looking in a thread dedicated to cracking/failing MIC tops kind of skews the survey, but it sounds like you all are telling me to spring for the black painted top/appearance package.
Over 3,300 members are on this forum, and 1.5% have reported hardtop issues in the very scientific poll below using objective quality evidence. Kidding, the metrics from the poll are useless 😆 (and this is all a subset of the 400,000 6g Broncos that have been built through 2024).

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/factory-hard-top-replacement-poll.97945/

Knock on wood, my hardtop has zero cracking or honeycombing issues (probably similar to the vast majority of other hardtops). That said, I ordered my 2021 with the Mod hardtop (which would have been awesome) but was part of the other Webasto debacle.

What

To add insult to injury, even if you had gotten it replaced earlier, the new top likely would disintegrate too. Especially in hot and humid Florida. It's all a waste of time and Ford is jerking us around by replacing MIC tops with MIC tops.
right? I figured they would appreciate the savings of only replacing it once rather than 3~4 times 🤣

I reached out to a class action law firm and received a prompt response. You may wish to do the same and fill out their form to receive information about the status of their investigation. Note that they currently appear to be focused on a leakage issue with hard and soft tops. But they also appear to be interested in learning about the MIC top cracking/bubbling issues, which could be treated together with or separate from the former leakage issue.

https://classlawdc.com/2025/07/03/2021-2024-ford-bronco-leaking-cracked-roof-class-action-investigation/#:~:text=The law firm of Migliaccio,TSB issued for this vehicle:
I know around the time the 6G was launched that they had a last minute hardtop manufacturer change. If I recall correctly, only first editions were guaranteed a hardtop for year number one. I have a '21 first edition and have had not issues with my hardtop, but a friend of mine who has an identical Bronco, manufactured a couple of weeks before mine, had a lot of that spider web pattern on his top. Idk what is going on.

The only information in that poll that is telling is that, of the small number of respondents, some have had to replace their top multiple times. If this was not a significant problem, you would not see multiple replacement tops in a very small sample size.

I wonder how much of that is the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Mine is not perfect for instance in terms of some honeycomb pattern being visibile at the surface if I look hard enough, but I don't have any legitimate cracks yet.

I feel like if way more people were complaining about every little imperfection in their tops, Ford would be dealing with more replacements.

Personally I'm not worrying about mine too much until about 30K miles and then I'm going to give it a good once over (keeping an eye out for large imperfections/cracking though regardless).

I don’t know what mid-level executive signed off on Webasto as the supplier, but I have to imagine they are no longer with the company.
No longer with the company? You have to be kidding! He/she is the same one that CONTINUES to sign off on them as they are STILL going down the assembly line and will be for a long time to come, and still has the same job-until the promotion comes along. :)

Hi, "squeaky wheel" here. 1st top cracked and delaminated at 24k miles and a year old. Replacement installed November last year. Replaced it again for cracked honeycomb pattern on roof in June.... They. FAIL.

All the photos of cracked hard roofs look about the same. Have any of you had the cracks continue to crack and fissure until the roof became a danger?

Mine is past 3 year/36,000 and not cracking...yet. If it begins I don't know that I will replace it very soon. So wondering how bad others have become.

Somewhere on the board there's pics of one that was cracked thoroughly enough around the rear window that I'd be concerned with losing the window given enough vibration. I can't seem to find it.

Dropped my cracked MIC top off today (for the second replacement). At the dealership's suggestion I opened a case w/ Ford customer service and they couldn't help. They said that the hard top is considered an "accessory" (although it was obviously a build option and the only top I ordered; you sort of need at least one!) and so they are limited in what they can do. Not surprised. So, it'll be groundhog day. I'll be leaning into Maryland law past the 3-year factory warranty. Research your state's law.

My dealer picked mine up this morning to do the hard top swap. What are you trying to get Ford to do for you? extend the warranty on this replacement hardtop?

An accessory?

If that's the case, Ford needs to offer these with a top delete option at a substantial discount, so a buyer can put on what they want.

Accessory, what a crock..... :LOL::poop:
