I reached out to a class action law firm and received a prompt response. You may wish to do the same and fill out their form to receive information about the status of their investigation. Note that they currently appear to be focused on a leakage issue with hard and soft tops. But they also appear to be interested in learning about the MIC top cracking/bubbling issues, which could be treated together with or separate from the former leakage issue.

I would like to thank you for pursuing this, I have contacted the law firm and wish others would follow suit, at the very least Ford possibly will have to deal with more negative publicity regarding their products. I am on my third 2 door 2022 Badlands top with 8,500 miles

As more and more tops get out of warranty, it will be interesting to see if any body shops have luck repairing and painting them… and how long those repairs last.

Just curious, how do these lawsuits typically end up? Do you get more than a 25$ Applebees gift card when all said and done?
Would like a warranty past the 3 years at the least.
My son in college signed up for some Facebook class action lawsuit and got something like $300. I was surprised.

I just got an email about a class action lawsuit related to a streaming service that apparently illegally tracked or disseminated viewer information, I'm thinking of signing on to see how it goes.

I just dropped mine off last week for the snake skin texture/honecomb showing through and delamination on the rear section. We'll see how it turns out.
Received confirmation from my service advisor today that Ford approved the replacement of my hard top. They said it should be here today or tomorrow and get installed probably monday or tuesday.

My top off my two door spends half the year on the removal stand in the garage. It returns to the Bronco right before winter arrives. The extended warranty provides no coverage for the MIC top. I bought a spare two door top off a local for $500. He put a soft top on his Bronco the day he brought it home. Now I wait to see how they last. So far, so good.

There is no extension if you do it on the last day of your 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty. If it fails 1 week later, it's no longer covered. Ford can decided to goodwill or participate in a repair anytime outside of warranty if they want, but they don't always do that.

Parts warranty only applies to a part that you purchased.
Company paid parts are 12/12 OR the rest of whatever coverage you have . example would be if you are more than 12 months from the end of your b2b or powertrain.

Got the call today that my replacement hard top was delivered, but was damaged in shipping. Replacement for the replacement will be here next week...

I'm just going to drop this here without comment. Make of it what you will.

Maryland Commercial Law Code

§ 2-316.1. Limitation of exclusion or modification of warranties to consumers.

(1) The provisions of § 2-316 do not apply to sales of consumer goods, as defined by § 9-102, services, or both.

(2) Any oral or written language used by a seller of consumer goods and services, which attempts to exclude or modify any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose or to exclude or modify the consumer’s remedies for breach of those warranties, is unenforceable. However, the seller may recover from the manufacturer any damages resulting from breach of the implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

(3) Any oral or written language used by a manufacturer of consumer goods, which attempts to limit or modify a consumer’s remedies for breach of the manufacturer’s express warranties, is unenforceable, unless the manufacturer provides reasonable and expeditious means of performing the warranty obligations.

(4)

(a) The provisions of this section do not apply to a motor vehicle:

(i) Required to be titled under the Transportation Article;

(ii) That is over 6 model years old and that has been driven more than 60,000 miles; and

(iii) If, at the time of the sale of the motor vehicle, the seller gives the purchaser notice of the inapplicability of this section on the form prescribed under § 13-119 of the Transportation Article.

(b)

(i) An exclusion or modification of an implied warranty of merchantability, or any part of a warranty under this subsection shall be in writing, mention merchantability, and be conspicuous.

(ii) An exclusion or modification of the implied warranty of fitness shall be in writing and conspicuous.

(iii) Any exclusion or modification of either warranty shall be separately acknowledged by the signature of the buyer.

Section 9-102. Definitions

(23) “Consumer goods” means goods that are used or bought for use primarily for personal, family, or household purposes.

Can confirm...I waited until the end of 3/36, the replacement showed cracks within weeks, Ford said they would replace it once more but that it would be the last. The most recent top started showing cracks within weeks...solid quality! :curse:

I too waited until I was right at the end of my 3/36,000. Took it to the Dealer April 18th, who says no problem we've had a lot of these, I'll write it up and call you when we get the parts... 2 months later parts finally come in. Now the Service rep is telling me Ford is questioning why I waited so long, why it's taken so long to get the replacement, and sending a Ford rep out to physically look at the top before they will approve it 🤦‍♂️

I just wanted to wait as long as possible in hopes they figure it out, or break down and offer the painted top as a replacement option with an upcharge.

Apparently Ford already denied replacing my crumbling window switches claiming it's just normal wear

To add insult to injury, even if you had gotten it replaced earlier, the new top likely would disintegrate too. Especially in hot and humid Florida. It's all a waste of time and Ford is jerking us around by replacing MIC tops with MIC tops.

This will be one of those things that the bronco will be known for, and maybe they'll actually be forced to do something about it down the road and the fix will benefit their 3rd or 4th owners.

While I believe this is a thing the Bronco will be known for, but by the time they're on their 3rd or 4th owners they'll be on their own to pick the aftermarket top of their choosing.....

I was referring to the way that toyota denied issues with frame rust on tacomas and so many original owners got boned having to sell them for a lower value, then when toyota finally agreed to replace frames the second or third owners got the benefit of a new solid frame after buying the truck cheap due to frame rust.
