Indiana is supposedly moving to the "cameras in construction zones" tactic as well.

Normally, I'd be kind of pissed about that type of overreach, but this is one of those "a few bad apples" spoils it for the rest of us.
We've had WAY TOO MANY construction worker deaths in the past few years here, and because of this, I'll support it until it gets under control.
As our construction signs here say ... "Give 'em a BRAKE."
I don’t think I’d mind so much but I’ve seen so many areas that are perpetually ā€œunder constructionā€ that never seem to have anyone working on it that it does make me somewhat suspicious…

Here in CA they tend to leave the construction signs up even once they are done. I won’t say it’s just so they can double the fine in the area but… yeah. Stretch of road right by my house has been done for 3 months, still has the sign. CHP loves to park there and snag out of state plates

I always thought it stood for File Transfer Protocol

But I’m an IT major so…
When I Googled it, I also got File Transfer Protocol and I also got Forget The Playoffs.

And yes, I definitely did Google something @Tybh88

It doesn't matter if they are working or not, it is a marked reduced speed zone.
While the reduced speed exists, many States have held doubling of penalty requires workers to be present.

There are also due process considerations with photo tickets because they cannot prove who was operating the vehicle.

OP knows their jurisdiction and whether it is worth contesting. It may also be worth pursuing a deferred disposition that keeps it entirely off the record.

I once got a ticket for doing 22 in a 20 mph school zone… this was with early radar back in 1981. Cost was $68.00.

Useless info for your automotive intellectual entertainment!

At least with camera tickets they can't make it an insurance points violation since no proof you were driving. I look at it as pay to play since no other consequences
On Germany they get you from the front as well to ID you ....a friend had to remove website profile pic for 90 days to time it out LOL

Google Maps has it now as well...
Waze is the master spyware they openly collaborate with various jurisdictions I used to use it on my dedicated streaming data only device untill I got notice I had to turn on precision location.....just deleted it. My R4 is good enough for brick bronco on highway at 75......unlike Mustang when waze alerts saved me multiple times......I just deleted it I till making 80-130 highway trips using half the fuel as bronco at similar speeds haha.

Based on the jersey barriers in the pic, this must have been a construction zone. I know I would have slowed down more if anyone had actually been working there. It happened on an 8-hour drive for a wedding.
I will fight the ticket in court. I don't give them the satisfaction.

Radar detectors are illegal in VA :( At least they were last time I checked.
STILL?

I could have sworn there was a court ruling about 30 years ago that confirmed radar detectors were essentially a radio receiver, same as an AM/FM deck. After that, I thought the last remaining holdouts 'legalized' their use...

FWIW, there are also some good hidden mount options...

Maybe so, but you can still run JBV1 in standalone mode and still get heat maps, crowd sourced alerts, and red light/speed camera alerts, plus much more. Highly recommend JBV1, it's free.... and it's effective even without a detector.

Not that it would be worth the hassle, but can you fight these in court like a regular ticket?
If it were local, it might be worth a try to show up in court. In this case, the courthouse would be 7 hours away, so I’m just gonna pay for my Bronco portrait and maybe frame it.
