We just got word that next week they will be ready! Do you have a timeframe you need it by?

Since I couldn't find any install instructions anywhere I figured I'd add a few lessons learned for the thread:

  1. You will need to disassemble the control box for the winch to remove the contactor/solenoid. You will mount the contactor to the winch plate, there are two holes towards the front passenger side for this.
  2. You will probably need to reorient the wires on the contactor to organize them better.
  3. You will need to cut the wiring for the wired controller socket and solder some sort of appropriate connector (e.g. 4 pin Weatherpack or Deustch connections) to allow for the fairlead mounting plate to be installed/removed.
  4. You will probably want to get a good power solenoid, or the warn power interrupt kit so you can disable power to the winch when not in use. The Warn kit includes a short pre-crimped 2GA positive wire.
  5. You can replace the interior winch switch with a universal wireless winch controller. I got one that charges from USB also has a auxiliary light toggle so I can turn the spool light on/off that was included (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D53XX5P9).
  6. You may have a locating tab on your intercooler mounting bracket that has to be cut off or bent back. I cut mine off to be flush.
For the wired controller socket, I cut the wire, removed the jacket that was left and soldered in a 4 pin weather pack I had laying around. I then wrapped it in Tessa tape. Don't forget to connect this connection when you re-install the bumper.

Since I didn't feel like making a big hole anywhere in my interior for the hard wired winch switch, I looked around and found a universal winch controller I could use to replace the switch and keep my interior relatively uncut. The one I found is rechargeable and has an auxiliary light controller. The wiring colors of course don't match what was on the Mile Marker winch but it was pretty easy to figure out which wire went where. Since I already had the soldering iron out, I removed the hard wired connection wires and soldered the wireless controller wires back on. The wire color connections may vary for if you buy a different controller, but for me these were the color mappings:

ConnectionWireless Controller ColorWinch/Contactor Color
Winch InYellowBlue
Winch OutWhiteBrown
Light PowerBlue
GroundBlackBlack
PositiveRedRed

I used double-sided tape to stick the wireless controller to the front of the contactor box, then wrapped it in a bunch of electrical tape just to ensure it doesn't come off.

You can't put the wired remote controller onto the mounting plate that goes behind the bumper without cutting the wires, or unsoldering and then re-soldering them after it's installed.

Other than these tips, it's pretty straight forward to get everything installed.

I used the Warn Power Interrupt kit 62132 and hooked it up to my Aux 5 switch. One thing I did notice is that the wireless remote takes 10-15 seconds to connect before you can use it.

Congratulations! You are going to like it.... I am finding I like the short drum. It is much faster to be on the first layer where I get all my pulling strength. Yes I need extensions but pulling strength is far better on the first layer than it is on any of the successive layers. By time you get to the third layer you have just slightly more than half of your pulling power.... For the long drums that is often where they are starting if it is a short pull.

Ok, all set! This setup is so slick. Love how the light comes on in there when in use...very cool solution overall. Pricey, but definitely cool.

Has anyone come across a Bronco raptor solution yet? I've seen several brands come out with intercoolers but none are high clearance like the mishimoto. Anyone have a contact at mishimoto?

Hey! This is actually something that's in the works! At the moment, we're currently in search of a Raptor donor in the PA area. If that applies to you or anybody you know, please shoot us a message!
