When I bought mine new, always ran 93, it was 17.2@80mph on the KO2s. I dropped down to the 15s with my MTs and offfset. I dropped another 1.5 mpg with the roof rack. Running sport mode with the Procal makes it worse obviously lol.

It specifies 87 minimum but 93 required to make factory stated power.
I strongly sudpect better fuel economy from 93. The engine will pull timing and make more power leading to less fuel required for a speed and hence given aerodynamic loss.

The first part goes to Cd not frontal area, and lifting a vehicle higher without making significant changes to underbody aero will not significantly change Cd and will affect frontal area in a very small way, resulting in no change, as I stated.Drag coefficient can be measurably improved if you can reduce to high pressure/turbulence under the vehicle and it is the reason that OEMs spend so much money on this. At first we saw Ford aggressively sacrificing ground clearance in their TRUCKS with front air dams well below standard bumper heights. This was done across the line-up including F250's and F350's. Now you even some of these with dynamic air dams as referenced in THIS post.
But you may have a good point insofar that the Bronco air is already SO messed up as it goes under the car, it's hard to imagine that it can get worse with another inch or two of height![]()

Come out west if you want some really bad mpg!My message to ford. Design a 11 speed trans with an extra over drive to get 1500 rpm at 75 mph. Every state is 70/75 mph. Why not base mpg around it. Or maybe we get jimmy carter back and force speed limits back to 55 mph

Yeah, running at 65 mph is going to be way more efficient. I definitely had some of my most efficient tanks of gas I've seen yet running around the country in Idaho and Montana where I was only maxing out at around 60 mph but driving distance under low load.I used to live out in Utah for years, I have to agree with you on getting 4 MPG with the hills and wind out there!
I forgot to mention I was cruise control locked at 70 mph for 8.8 MPG for most of the trip. I did notice for the hell of it that when I dropped down to 65 I gained ~1.5 MPG for just that 5 mph decrease in speed.
Can't agree with this based on my experience. There are way to many variables in play. In my 2.3L 7MT 2-door Big Bend I average 22.00 MPG at 70 MPH. Driven sanely, I'm seeing little change in gas mileage overall based upon how I'm driving - as long as I'm driving like a sane person. Gas mileage is still inching up, and I'm at nearly 6K now, running top-tier 93 octane exclusively.Anything over 70 is going to be a deterrent for MPGs. Especially with 37s.
I’d say give it 500 miles to “break in”. I started getting better mileage once fluids break down a bit and everything settles.
Don't sweat the MPG's not going to improve much unless you slow down. HAHA!!Few days old , 300 miles on it. Did a 150 mile trip. All highway 76 mph. Got 11.9 mpg
im guessing dealer filled it with 87 octane and winds were somewhat strong. But I had hoped for 15mpg +
