I was "detailing" mine today in preparation to showing it off this Saturday's downtown community event with other rigs from the local 4X4 club, and a couple of hours in I actually wished I had a pavement queen...but the thought was only fleeting. I am going to take the doors off for the first time however, so...

Just got back from the car wash. Its so clean and fresh, even the inside of the door jambs are minty. I just cant do it yet yall. Maybe this summer I will get it dirty. But being in FL and having just got it last month, it havent even seen a drip of rain yet. That it will see once the wet season hits. Then every off road park we have turns into mud city. And i'd be lying if I said I didnt destroy the engine on a 21 wrangler two years ago in a giant mud pit. Turns out wranglers are dog shit for water fording contrary to what they say. Make sure you stock one of their $1000 alternators too, they are on infinite back order...

So by car wash, you mean your driveway?

I get ya. I’m at 8,000 miles. Now im ready. Gonna spend a week in E. Tn hitting the trails after the off rodeo. My wife has a pristine 2016 JK that has never hit a pothole.
shi##’s going down in may. My goal is to keep it as my daily driver. But this ain’t my first rodeo. I have had OFF ROAD vehicles, and part timers. This is a part timer for sure.

I had to replace a lot of idler pulleys from mud bogging. Never killed the alternator though.
This was the incident in question. The wrangler made it about 40 more feet from there and it was game over. $5k in damage from all sorts of electrical shit. bent crank pulley as well with lots of that sweet ocala mud as my new engine oil. So lesson learned. Will not destory the new $60k bronco. Tried to rinse most of it off just to get a look at the engine, but it was completely soaked in mud. Luckily they had a mobil spray washer guy come over and get most of it off before it went on the wrecker.
