Not sure what type of gummies you got but word to the wise….certain gummies should not be eaten after consuming multiple bottles of whiskey earlier in the day. And you certainly shouldn’t eat the whole bag quoting random things like “these little fuckers don’t do shit”. Roughly an hour later you may find yourself slumped in a chair staring at the sky and your buddy asking if you’re okay.

Gummies = 1; nolimits = 0
Were they the little bottles?!? 😱

The whiskey? It was 3 bottles of the Texas size, lol, or 750ml. Started out with regular, went to Black and finished up on Rye. In fairness the Rye was only about 80% full.

I don’t recall what the gummies were in. Supposedly good stuff from CO. Apparently they needed a little time to work.

I’m no stranger to Crown but that was my first and only round with those type of gummies.

I didn't know it was possible to drink that much whiskey in one day... Wow!

David Spade had a bit about taking a gummi right as they were telling him to take, like, 1/30th of the gummi. He'd already popped it in his mouth and eaten it by then. He was like, how do you give me a little piece of candy and then say, just a nibble!

We started early….around 1pm when the game started. Ate a few times as well. All in was about a 13+ hour event.

It would probably kill me today. At the time I was going through a shit part of life and much more seasoned drinker. I’m normally much more mellow. Think my current 750ml bottle at the house has been around for 6+ months.

I worked for a guy in high school whose fiance left him and he started drinking a bottle of Everclear a day (plus the odd bottle of tequila). It makes my liver hurt just thinking about it. Glad you got out of that!

MOST fire apparatus carry three extinguisher's for fire firefighting. Large ABC dry chemical, Large CO2, water can, and foam capabilities. Firefighters will choose the correct method of extinguishment depending on the type of fire.

MOST departments will use water, foam, and or ABC dry chemical for stubborn vehicle fires.

In regards to fire blankets, they're reserved for electric vehicle fires (covers the entire car) Doesn't put the car out, just keeps it contained until the batteries are done burning. Plus, they're super big and heavy. Not practical for overlanding.

Halon displaces oxygen. That's how the fire goes out. The problem is the fire can re ignite. That's the advantage of dry chemical. It creates a crust over the hot surface where the fire was, keeping the fire suppressed. Halon is used by computer companies as not to damage electronics. Floods the room with Halon for a period of time. We're outside dealing with plastic, rubber, fuel, and all kinds of other combustibles.

I don't mess around with mystery extinguishers like the Element. Not that they don't work, but the testing I've seen is not realistic in regards vehicle fires. Shown are small easily controlled fires. Plus, you have to get your hand in there for it to be effective. Not always possible and likely to burn yourself.

Use what's proven to work (most of the time) an actual vehicle fire is not the time to see if they are effective. You don't want to lose your Bronco and start a large brush fire.

In regards to mounting, anywhere on the vehicle is close enough. Don't lock or bury it under stuff. My advice is keep it in the rear because most fires start towards the front and you want access without flames or smoke making it difficult. Plus, it's a pressurized canister. Rear is a good choice.

Myself, I carry two extinguishers. 2.5 pound BC Purple K and 2.5 pound ABC dry chemical. If you have the ability to carry bigger versions of those extinguishers...awesome. Don't worry about corrosion, you want the fire out. Insurance can replace parts.

🔥I had a Bronco fire last month🔥 in the desert. Sage brush build up on the skid plate, caught a spark somehow melting a hole in the fuel tank. The BC Purple K make fast work of it. Saved the Bronco and a possible brush fire. I'll have that video out in a week or so.

These links will get you set up
Hope this helps!

Did you get the fuel tank replaced yet?
Thanks for the fire extinguisher lesson!👍

Anybody seen this extinguisher?
https://www.ake.com/
Expensive but looks like it works real well.
discuss…..
I gave them a call. The lady who answered was very knowledgable.

It's an expensive extinguisher, but in the long run it might end up being the lowest cost option.

First of all, it's not dry chemical, so no corrosion from residue. You won't have to pay to repair damage caused by a dry chemical.

It has a lifetime warranty. They'll fix/recharge/replace if the gauge no longer reads in the green.

It can be used to put out several fires. It doesn't have to be recharged after each use. If you use it and it's only partially discharged you have two options:
1. Put it back in the holder for your next fire. Other extinguishers must be replaced or recharged after being used.
2. Send it back for recharge. They'll only charge you for what it takes to bring the extinguisher back to full charge. A standard refill is $550 but they only charge that if the extinguisher is completely discharged.
Refills are on sale in Spring and Fall. So if you had to use it, you can wait until then to recharge it.

If you get a full recharge they replace your extinguisher with a new one. Otherwise they'll top off your extinguisher and return it. Contact them for shipping labels.

Their Standard $800 model seems to be equivalent to the H3R 2.5 lb HalGuard PRO extinguisher which sells for $530 with a twelve year warranty. The HalGuard must be recharged even if you use it to put out a small fire.

I think over time the Stop Fyre may be a better deal.

Right up front on the aftermarket overhead panel. Very quick access. At first we didn’t like it blocking the Aux switches but decided to stick with it. Glad we did. We’ll put the backup in the back.

I'd be worried about the extinguisher coming loose in a collision and flying around. Otherwise I like the location. How is the DV8 overhead molle panel working for you? Some people have had problems installing one.

If that thing comes off during a crash we definitely have bigger problems.

Installation of the panel wasn’t an issue. The @DV8offroad logos cut out of the metal is pretty fucking ghey and retarded though.

Hey @SierraBronco how did you mount this quick release? Did you drill new nutserts into the roll bar? I think when I measured it didn't fit the OEM bolt spacing.

Quick connect for extinguisher (can personally confirm it works as designed in an emergency. It doesn’t come with mounting bolts or washers)

I was thinking about the extinguisher hitting someone's head. Airbags work well but won't protect from that.
