A short while back I installed some Fox DSC 2.5's. After a long road trip through UT & CO last month it was apparent I was under-sprung, particularly in the rear.

I called a popular suspension co. that offers a tuned version of these shocks and asked them about a heavier coils. They started asking about the weight I added, to which I replied bumper, 37's, sub, table, skids, etc. I offered to weigh it all up and he declined, seeming confident that he had the right rear spring for me. I was sold:
ERS-1400.375.0250S
Eibach Spring, 14" Long, 3.75" ID, 250 Lb/In
....Same one that comes on their standard upgrade package for their rear.

What I ended up with after a full day of sweat & beers is -.5" rear sag bias (unloaded) and -2" sag bias loaded. Time would tell if this is livable setup. However, I can exchange the $300 springs right now if they remain unused.

What do you all think? Should I grind another day out swapping to heavier springs or just deal with a saggy rear?
I’m kinda confused. Did you install the eibach springs? And you still had squat?

What’s the issue with being a little high in the front? Performance in whoops, jumps, handling? Certainly looks better than a rake.

Gigahorse might have something to say about that! I generally agree but I mostly just care about what is going to perform on the trail. Trophy trucks are usually higher in the front

Wow - did I blow this one! Should have read more forums on this. I found one dating back to 2021 on what seems to be a very similar fox issue. Every rig I have has had fox - I am dedicated fox fanatic. I am sitting in my garage looking at a beautiful fox shock that literally bottoms out while driving down the road. I can’t even be a pavement princess and I was headed to the dunes this weekend w my daughter who was pumped to hit the beach - now we won’t be driving a Bronco.

I will call fox in the morning - we adjust the preload 1/2 - stated max - and maxed the reservoir.

Have 1 inch of travel between rod end of cylinder body and bump stop.

Any ideas greatly appreciated to get me on the road tomorrow without destroying
$2500 plus ?

And Dear Fox mistakes happen but why are you not pulling these or warning your dealers.

before you ask how much weight I have… here you go - and aluminum shovel, 50 foot recovery strap and a plastic chuck it ball thrower for the dog (2 small balls to throw) Did I mention I don’t have my spare on 100 lbs saving there.

fellow bronco brothers and sisters - help !

sounds about right on the stock springs. I maxed out the preload on the new 250lb Eibachs and have closer to 2ā€ travel to bumps (unloaded & topless).

I have Eibach springs / Fox coils in my 2Door. Sounds like they’re the same as discussed above. Before the suspension swap my Bronco weighted 5440 lbs with a full tank.

These are the PN’s for the springs in my shocks - purchased from Accutune. I highly recommend working with Accutune.

So for they’ve been awesome. I had local shop, Colorado Bronco Upfitters, install them for me. CBU was super helpful but it sounded like the shocks were challenging to get set up correctly. CBU had to put them in and remove all the shocks several times to get it dialed. My Bronco has a touch of rake on flat ground and rides very well on & offroad.

Is the rear still too soft? TBD, I haven’t had the chance to go camping since all was installed so I have not loaded up the back with tons of weight yet. Plus I’m planning to add TOR’s HD tailgate reinforcement & adjustable tire carrier. So time will tell. That said I’m very happy with them.

I’m glad to hear Fox is getting closer to releasing their HD spring kit.

Appreciate the visual 2pump. I have been thinking they made the body of the Cyl too long or the spring is too long.

thanks for the post! Good
Info… that TOR TC does look just right. The stk springs won’t likely be happy with the 80 or so lbs it weighs…

When you run in 4wd or under heavy acceleration does it still point to the sky? That’s the biggest complaint I have with the stock fox springs. Fox fumbled them and should make it right. It’s not like these coilovers were cheap.

No, I have not noticed any atypical behavior in 4Low or lead foot moments.

I never run 4A unless it’s snowing.

Even with HD springs proper coil-over shocks move more than OEM, this is just how it is, so you’re going to have more body roll & brake dive on pavement.

I almost hit a tiny black bear cub coming home this week from a night run on a local trail. Had to jam on the brakes full send at 50 mph on pavement. Thankfully I missed the little guy but my 2Door behaved very well in that heavy braking moment.

After the suspension install I immediately noticed that my rig behaved like a proper lifted offroad vehicle. At the moment I’m even running the DCS almost of full soft.

My shocks do not have the custom valving from Accutune. When I have them rebuilt I’ll likely have them tuned just for giggles by 303Shocks, Tim is local to me and has done excellent work on my coils in the past. (EDIT: If I did it all again I’d just purchase everything from Accutune, including their custom tune)

My 2Door is also my daily and my commute is approximately 40 min each way at highway speeds. So I spend a fair amount of time on the tarmac

I’ve always liked Fox suspension, I prefer a softer more compliant ride. Trails in northern Colorado are not high speed, everything in my area is sharp rock & stumps.

Again TBD if I will want a heavier spring in the rear. Hopefully I can hit the Flat Tops in CO or the Snowy Range in WYO soon for a camping / wheeling trip. That should tell me more about how the vehicle behaves on trail when laden with heavy gear.

@TwoPumpChump The list of springs above were purchased from us, so let us know if you have questions about which rates to go with. The spring rates you need will vary depending on how much weight you have on your Bronco.

The Eibach spring PN#s I posted above were recommended to me by Accutune based on my trucks weight plus my plans to install the TOR HD tailgate & tire carrier plus camping gear. TBD on the camping gear load performance but so far this suspension is šŸ‘

Yes! That is correct.

If anyone has questions I highly recommend working with Accutune. My case was atypical and I only ordered springs and adaptors from Accutune.

if I did it again I would have just purchased everything from Accutune,
Including their custom tune.

I did talk to some Fox representatives at the Bronco Stampede last Friday and they told me they are coming out with a whole new set of coilovers with stiffer rates and valving. I asked about us the people who bought the current fox’s. One of the guys smiled and said have you adjusted the DSC. I said the DSC isn’t going to change the spring rate any. I then told them almost everyone on bronco6 using them has complained about how soft the rear is and how it squats when you go into 4a. They all laughed and said you need to wait till the upgraded fox’s come out. I just turned and walked off. It kinda pissed me off.

Mine points to the sky in fact I can just push down on the
Rear bumper and hear it hit the bumps. Ugh.

Arrogance of Fox is unbelievable. Eventually the loss of customers may hurt. Maybe a name change to FAUX?

Under that exact recommendation to crank the DSCs - I then took it for a test drive only to hit the bump stops which busted a brake line which became a tow bill…. Hopefully my dealer N4 comes through with some options.

Sounds like every one of us who are unhappy needs to politely push them to make it right.
