Ha!!
Yeah, Iām hoping the smoke up in the Flat Tops wonāt be too bad, but to be honest I expect it to be smoky. Kiddo wants to fish in the Flat Tops and Iāve never been up there so we are sticking to our plan. We live in Lyons and itās pretty darn smokey outside latelyā¦I can taste it. Good...
This weekend Iām headed up into the Flat Tops within COās White River National Forest. My daughter and I are going to explore for a few days and look for some fish. The Flat tops trip is more of a test trip for this rack. Then in Oct Iām headed back into the Maze District of Canyonlands National...
Other options tested. I have lots of old rotopax kicking around. I settled on the 4G because the larger singular tank was more stable when mounted. Shared structure if you will.
Due to Aux fuel needs for two upcoming trips I recently installed Trail Raxās āstand alone Pax Raxā kit.
Installation was challenging at first because TR does not have instructions for this item & the old YouTube video featuring the 4D is wrong. After several emails with TR, I figured it out...
It livesā¦.2door stand alone Pax Rax.
Installation was very challenging at first because TR doesnāt have instructions for this set up and the old YT video featuring the 4D is out of date and or just plain wrong. After many emails with TR they helped me work it outā¦mostly.
As far as Iām...
Kenda Klever RTās (KR601).
Excellent tires for Colorado / Western US region. I daily drive my Bronco. Iāve had 5 sets of these tires in 3 different sizes on 3 different vehicles.
I had a set of Geolander MTās in a 34, I found then to be small.
Based on your region I can not recommend the Kenda Klever RT KR601 more. They are awesome. Maybe more than you want but I have found them to be excellent on the pavement, very good in the snow and awesome
In the Maze.
In my personal experience Yokoās run small, just FYI. I donāt have any experience with Firestone. Iām a Kenda fan.
Tires are highly subjective & heavily influenced by personal preference, use case and geographical region. If you share more about how you plan to use your vehicle & in what...
@crzyhawk - If memory serves, yes it was just over 1K. I agree itās steep, but our options are limited. Hopefully this rack preforms well. If you order one just a heads up all the instructions are wrong. š
Finally finished installing a TrailRax stand alone pack Rax today. Without PDF instructions installation was challenging, mostly because the YT video is out of date. Plus that YT vid is focused on the 4D.
The Green Lady still fits in the garage, but it was very, very close! Ha ha ha. Come...
Thanks for your reply. Iāve traded emails with TR several times and sent them the same photo. They didnāt comment on how I installed the foam. I just followed the YT vid, but that video is for the Moredoor. I appreciate the suggestion.
@TrailRax - any suggestions? Thanks.
I picked up a stand alone pack rax for my 2Door. How in the world did you install the forward outer clamps into the hardtop seam? The seam is so narrow on my hardtop the steel clamp barely fits in without the foam. With the adhesive foam Iām at a loss how to install them without the adhesive...
@BigSkyBronco - how were you able to install the front outer clamps? For the life of me I canāt figure this out. The seam on my hardtop is so narrow the steel clamp barely fits in there without the foam. With the adhesive foam installed Iām at a loss how to install without the foam peeling back...
OP - how in the world did you get the front outer clamp into the seam on the hardtop? For the life of me I canāt figure it out. The seam on my hardtop is so narrow the steel clamp barely fits in there without the foam. With the foam installed Iām at a loss how to install without the adhesive...
A week or so ago I bumped into one of my buddies who was part of our last trip to the Doll House. I told him I was headed back in Oct. He smiled and causally said āRevenge of the Doll House, huh?ā Ha ha ha. Yup.
10 days is legit, well done. Thanks for the specs. Poison Springs Canyon is awesome, we did it years ago with my old 2ng Gen Tacoma & two 4Runners. Itās a great route into the Maze, the beginning looks like a canyon on Mars.
