If I pass a 2dr pulling this trailer, expect to see me doing this 🤦‍♂️
Uh no. I'm pretty sure it'd break my Bronco just hitching that in the driveway!

Actually, maybe I’m looking at this all wrong. A guy could simultaneously flash his mancard while passing you with this setup behind a 2dr:

Thanks, this sounds positive! No plans to go over limits, I'd install a brake controller for sure and an anti-sway hitch. The trailer I picked can be towed by just about anything and has electric brakes. The one she wants weighs too much IMO. My pick is the Safari Condo Alto (1991 lbs and very aerodynamic), she likes the Coachman Vintage Cruiser 17SCD (2800 lbs, too much like a standard camper). I'd think the Alto would be no problem, I'm not on board with the Vintage (except the price). Based on the feedback the Vintage isn't a good fit, maybe she'd go for the Alto if we get it wrapped to match her HEL Bronco...that we don't own yet. We don't use our current RV anymore, over 50' bumper to bumper, time to downsize to 2-person setup.

My camper is about the same size as the 17SCD.

In Oregon we can do THREE trailers...ROFL

On the other hand I've towed more than ANYONE with a 2dr...I've hauled a 21 ft camp trailer from Oregon to Moab, UT...weight is about 3800lbs...no issues.

towed out my 40,000lbs peterbilt while smoking all 4 tires on dry pavement!!!

I also tow a small aluminum trailer with heavy logs on it from time to time up to 5,000 lb short distances less than a hundred miles. Today I was looking at a removable fifth wheel hitch for my half cab pickup in all seriousness. The dealer has one that was removed from a purchase truck at a discounted cost off of some other F-series and I intended to get a price on it simply because it was quickly removable with two latches which I like a lot. And because when I really want to tow something heavy I could use a fifth wheel trailer and have almost no tongue weight. With the Dana 60 rear end and some upgraded heavier Duty brakes, I feel like I can haul 10,000 pounds no problem with the two door setup with the fifth wheel in the back similar to a pickup truck. The biggest issue I see is most people have their hitch way too far out from the rear bumper I actually drilled a new hole in the 2-in plug that goes in the receiver and a closer position so that the ball sits nearly right against the bumper instead of 5 in away. This makes a difference on a two-door. Anyway here's a few photos

This was a terrible experience...

...but... everything about this is WRONG lol 😆

I knew that before I drove 150 miles to get the damn frame.. it was just too good of a deal to pass up.

48mph the entire way home on the freeway.. thankfully there's no traffic that far north at that time of day lol.
The top of I95, not far from there, Fredericton

Picturing three trailers behind a 2dr anything just made my day. And we both know there’s someone out there oblivious to the risk that’s probably tried/done it.

You sound like you’re not short of towing experience and while I agree with most (not all) points you make here, not gonna lie, right now the curiosity of how your truck will look with a gooseneck trailer is killing me. Now you have to do it! Haha. You even have me picturing where you could mount airbags to level it out. Haha

I personally would not tow more than 1500 LBS with the 2 door Bronco.

That being said, I am torn between buying a small trailer to haul kayaks and paddle boards along with some camping gear, etc. to tow behind our 2 door Bronco- for when we travel next year. Or just trading in for an F150 pick up. A pick up would haul all of our gear without a trailer. I worry most about horrendous gas mileage towing with the Bronco- maybe 12-14? (We get 22 MPG average now). Paying all that gas and purchase, customization and storage of a small trailer versus the trade difference toward an F150. Our budget is very tight, it will cost us just about everything we earn monthly to travel, so still not sure the better way to go. The other problem is we do love the Bronco and it will be hard to see it go.

The 2 door tows fine. The heavier the trailer the more it does push on the back, and given the short wheelbase, you need to adjust accordingly. The key is controlling your speed. Heavier the trailer the slower your top speed.

As an example, I flat towed my Mini Cooper from our storage unit back to our house (20 miles). Within the tow rating, but I kept my top speed to 55 mph. Experienced tow folks will adjust their driving based on their load.

I once towed a very light trailer and hit triple digits in the Mini Cooper... LOL. That said, I think that the Mini Cooper might have towed better than the 2 door Bronco.

The 2 door Bronco is seriously fine, there is no need to limit yourself to 1500# as suggested a few posts above, just don't expect to safely tow a 3000# trailer at 85+ MPH down the freeway.

Get the right equipment (trailer brake, load leveling hitch) and maintain reasonable speeds. The Bronco with a 3000# trailer had no problems with stopping or maneuvering, as the electronic sway control does work to help keep you in control if you get a little out of shape in an emergency situation (I have only experienced it once and felt that it kicked in way too early).

@mpeugeot , very nice. I've been looking at several trailers with this floorplan, ideal in my mind. Currently I have the motorhome and tow the Bronco, but if I ever switch it up this is the way.

I lived in it for 3 months straight, and it was a pretty damn good trailer. It can sleep upto 4, but really it shines best as a couples camper or for a single person.

I even managed to mount a 42 inch TV in it. The only thing I really didn't like was the AC unit. It needed to be ducted to distribute the airflow better and decrease the noise. Also, if you are going to be spending extensive time living in it a dehumidifier is essential to keep moisture from building up inside with the AC on full time.

Just 2 of us, haven't watched the TV in ours much, AC is broke in ours now and don't know if I care (We chase moderate temps, desert in winter mountains in summer) and we always seem to go to dry climates!! Perfect!

The only drawback I could see was lack of storage for food and clothing

Timely, I just towed a 6x12 U-Haul filled with my daughter’s furniture up 95 to DC with my 2 door. It was filled to the brim, and so was the truck. King size bed and frame, full sofa and lots of other stuff. I was pleasantly surprised. Had it on CC at 74 mph most of the time. 14.5 MPG. Felt good. I normally tow with a 2500 Suburban 8.1 4x4. Didn’t want to have that beast in the tight roads of the district. I would definitely tow again with my 2door if I needed to
