  1. Bronco Raptor Inventory piling up on dealer lots

IMO, Fordā€™s pulling a page straight out of the successful F150 Raptor play book and hooking folks on the truck to then jack up the price as its own ā€œpremiumā€ brand. A similar (although admittedly poor) comparison might be the price difference between a Honda Pilot and an Acura MDX. Or...
  2. Bronco Raptor Inventory piling up on dealer lots

How I feel about everything these days. I still have the window sticker off my ā€˜98 F250 PSD at right around $15,k. And the 7.3 PSD option was only $5,k of that total. The equivalent truck today is $110,k. And my first MasterCraft was a ā€˜94 I got for $16,k. Equivalent boat todayā€¦. $200,k
  3. Stage 2 turbos only

Itā€™s funny you guys bring up cams. Man, I remember back when cams were one of the first best options to add power in normal aspirated V8 engines. They were fast and easy to swap, easy to access, all you needed was the cam, tools and a valve cover gasket. Popping my hood, I canā€™t even imagine the...
  4. Stage 2 turbos only

I mean, I get your methodology. But when I think of greater volume being forced through the same diameter discharge, isnā€™t that textbook for pressure increase? Thatā€™s where I believe the heat threat originates since it wouldnā€™t be able to shed exhaust from the system fast enough. To me, this...
  5. how do you delete a post?

Haha. I actually used the term ā€œruns like a raped apeā€ here on a different thread and actually took a second to think about who that might offend before posting. Never saw myself ever needing to do that, but yet here we are.
  6. "200 Days" of Inventory on the Lot

Looking at it now, I think Fordā€™s intention bringing back the Bronco was always to market the platform as a niche car with a niche price point. Honest truth is, they could easily (relatively) give the majority of consumers exactly what they want: Fordā€™s classic, basic ā€˜60ā€™s Bronco but with an...
  7. how do you delete a post?

Wellā€¦ thanks for this. I now have todayā€™s item found on interweb search that I wish I could unwatch. šŸ˜‚ I mean, itā€™s funnier than hell but in a million years I had no idea typing ā€œgrapefruit gifā€ would end up there. Haha.
  8. Bronco Raptor Inventory piling up on dealer lots

I donā€™t disagree with this at all. I remember before ordering mine as a golden ticket, I ran quick math on what all Raptor upgrades would cost me were I to mod a FE Wildtrack at that time and the total was pretty close. That said tho, price increases have occurred to all trim levels since...
  9. Stage 2 turbos only

Agree with this mindset, but with different motivation. Mineā€™s more along lines of why spend that much to risk pulling years off your engine for a few horses when if done right with a bit more investment you can have sizable gains with limited risk.
  10. Bronco Raptor Inventory piling up on dealer lots

Not singling out your take really, but Iā€™m not sure Iā€™m wrong to say that everyone in each trim level feels their bronco is about $15-$20,000 more than itā€™s worth. I believe all auto makers see pricing their cars as 4D chess and they win by mindf***ing everyone into believing itā€™s worth what...
  11. Stage 2 turbos only

Another concern you might think about is risk of overcooking the turbo itself. Iā€™m not sure how the 2.7 turbo oil line is mapped so maybe doesnā€™t apply but my diesel forum talked about an overcooked turbo blowing both its bearing and impeller, sending shrapnel into the crankcase. Guess it caused...
  12. Raptor R 5.2 V8 engine swap

As little as I know about modern ā€œmodulizationā€ of the auto, I actually knew this was a thing. I had a ā€˜95 ski boat with an LT1 Vette in and to get it to run best at my altitude, we remapped a PCM from plain jane 350 TBI. Ran like a raped ape.
  13. Raptor R 5.2 V8 engine swap

My mind = šŸ¤Æ Cool, but crazy to me!
  14. Noise when locked in 4 low

Iā€™m unclear on your situation. Did you say ā€œstuck on & mudā€? is your login?
  15. Stage 2 turbos only

I fully agree with this. Remember the exhaust heat will overflow to forced induction and would spiral upward. Donā€™t overlook the importance of cooling the air coming in.
  16. Stage 2 turbos only

This ones a thinker and therefore above my pay grade. On the one hand, the turbo would theoretically suck more air faster but also youā€™d be forcing an equal volume of exhaust. Personally, I see your bottleneck being the exhaust and b/c of that heat would be enemy #1. Me personally, Iā€™d watch...
  17. A/C seems to stay on

I challenge anyone anywhere to show me their pre-ā€˜85 auto with factory installed A/C. Will need photo proof w/copy of title in their name. šŸ¤£. Not saying it doesnā€™t exist. Just saying I donā€™t remember anyone having it. Haha.
  18. Steering Freezing Up <SOLVED>

Hey, the more I got thinking about this, the more I wanted to recommend still running it to an alignment specialist to double check your work. You might be fine, but unless you own and are certified with an alignment rack, I personally wouldnā€™t feel comfortable about it as a DIY. Adjusting your...
  19. A/C seems to stay on

Also, if itā€™s on AUTO but your comfort settings are lower than ambient temp, guess Iā€™ve never noticed if the A/C button lights up on its own or not šŸ¤”.
  20. Concern about my coolant

Wouldnā€™t hurt to ask the dealer their steps in the process when they flush. If itā€™s simply to drain it out, thereā€™s still some coolant left in the engine block, radiator coils, pump, and lines (along with some rust and scale) and if they donā€™t circulate it out during change youā€™d have that small...
