yeah it was standard on the everglades--lol. My guess is that there is no noticeable performance gains with a cold air intake-- if there was ford would have advertised it with the everglades--and turbo charging kinda negates noticeable power increase since the turbo is what really makes the power. Bottom line probably not worth the money

If you want to improve the intake tract, there are several choices for larger intercoolers out there in the aftermarket. I would start with a performance tune if you want a real seat of the pants difference. Second would be intercooler, third exhaust (jury out on exhaust helping much and it will never sound good, it’s not a V8)

+1 for K&N with piping. Really good design. Well worth it.

Injen Evolution. Went from breathing through a straw to breathing through a fire hose. +1‐2 mpg highway. Throttle response improved. It is the most involved intake I have ever put on because it it also replaces the piping to the turbos with larger diameter piping. This thing is massive, the restiction in the stock box is ridiculous.. open it up and look at it.. It also is snorkel capable if you have or want one. I have run CAIs in the past on most my vehicles and always K&N and this this is the most obvious performance improvement I have felt. However it's the first forced induction engine I have owned. Also I have the Flowmaster American thunder on the back end(sounds good, no drone not too Honda civic sounding). Bottom line I couldn't be happier with it. It was tough to go away from KN but I feel that injen was designed better.

To the folks with KN did... did they really "enclose" the top with some type of media to close the top? This didn't seem like a good design for a vehicle that gets in the dirt and mud. I have had the top on my stock

intake covered with mud... this is why I didn't go KN this time

Another vote for the Injen system. I have the CAI as well as the charge pipes. All I am waiting on now is for their intercooler which Injen told me they plan to release near the end of the month, as they are in final testing now.

As MJ12 mentioned, it is a night and day difference between the stock system and the Injen system. Also cleans the engine bay up quite nicely.

+1 more for the Injen system

I also have Mishimoto high mount intercooler, but still need to replace rest of the charge pipes connecting everything. Which if I was a smarter person would have done at same time as intake.

I must admit that the Injen kit does look nice and if treated as bling I like the mod but I'm not a believer in intakes on turbocharged engines as the gains are so small and it's more important to focus on cooling the air after it's compressed.

Want performance? Get a tune.

Want neat looks when you open the hood and a different noise? Aftermarket intake.

The stock intake is a cold air intake as well.
The inlet is in the grill, and the air it's taking in is plenty "cold".

Using a K&N or similar type filter is a great way to dust your engine. They do flow better BUT (because) they allow more dirt through.

That being said. The Ford piping does indeed suck. Just getting rid of that one silencer is bound to help some.

I have the Corsa CAI with the PowerCore filter. Honestly, I haven't felt any change from the stock setup. I also do not notice any additional sound from the engine bay. I do assume the PowerCore filter is better than the stock filter though. For comparison, I have an AFE CAI in my FJ and while I also don't notice any performance gains in the FJ, you definitely hear the CAI during WOT...that has not been the case for the Corsa in my Bronco. I do have an AWE exhaust which is pretty loud...so, it is possible I'm just not hearing the CAI on WOT in the Bronco due to the exhaust.

The big improvements come from the Inlets more than the airbox itself. Any intake system that is a full replacement will have more gains over one without.

@Caleb@PandaMotorworks can get you hooked up with any full intake system for a great price!! AFE, Injen, K&N are the top 3 options on our site!
