Both come stock with 4.46 if he buys a stick shift, which is what he wants.Get the Big Bend. Make sure and get the biggest ratio gearing you can, unless you want a little better highway mileage. The 4.27 or 4.48 I think are options.

You'd can't do roll up windows with the frameless doors.I vote for a manual Black Diamond, and find the old steelies
Also @Ford Motor Company , bring back the base already, but with roll up windows
No, it's not. The Badlands non-Sasquatch is an option.Looks like the only way to get the automatic 4x4 is to upgrade to the squach package which really is more than I want to spend.
Shame, also one of the thing that makes the Wranglers stand out in this day and age among modern carsYou'd can't do roll up windows with the frameless doors.
Yes, you can get the rear locker on the Big Bend. The Black Diamond also comes w/Rear Lockers.
I don't know if the Big Bend has that option, or simply has open differentials.
As part of the Black Diamond Package:
Rock Rails
Protective Skid Plates for the under carriage
Auxiliary Switch Box
Rear Locking Differential
4.46 Gearing w/the 7 Speed Manual, 2.3L Four Cylinder Turbo Engine
Front Steel Bumper for Mounting a Winch and such.
Black Diamond distinctive Black Steel Wheels, which many love, including myself.
Marine Grade Waterproof Seats and Rubberized Flooring
Generally I'd say BD all the wayThe Black Diamond also comes w/Rear Lockers.

And the aftermarket wash out floor is better anyways.Generally I'd say BD all the way
But for the 2 door manual:
-He getting the same gearing
-the locker is a free option
-2-door has the gas tank skid
-he's opting the mod bumper (with front skid included)
-Aux swiches are $300
-Rock rails run $50 on craigslist
So for about $3000 in savings, he's missing out on the washout floor and 2 small skid plates.
I picked up factory skids for free (other than the transmission skid, which is not standard on anything other than the BRaptor). Also ended up with the steel modular front bumper and steel rear bumper for free. Lots of people ditch them to upgrade. Got factory rock rails and Sasquatch fenders in trade for OBX painted fenders... So you can get a lot of this stuff inexpensively.Generally I'd say BD all the way

I LOVED the steelie look alikes the BD used to come with. Sad they replaced those. The non beadlock wheels look great too but not paying an extra 7k for the package.I vote for a manual Black Diamond, and find the old steelies
