My money's on the tight clearance between the spare and ball if the receiver doesn't have enough drop, which requires him to remove the spare. Same issue I had.....until I bought a receiver with more drop.

We need a poll or something to vote for our best guess as to what the issue actually is.

I’ve towed thousands of miles in my Bronco with no extension or problem with the spare tire. I’d guess trailer choice matters.

Ever since we removed the receiver our Bronco has been absolutely useless for towing! Do better Ford.

With a 2" drop draw bar, I have to open the door to hook up and latch the lever on my trailers. With a 4" drop draw bar it works fine without opening the door. These aren't the best tow vehicles, but work great for small single axle trailers with minimal tongue weight.

I have no idea what you’re talking about. The hitch works like any other. Plenty of room for a normal trailer. If you’re looking to attach a bike rack or similar, then you may need a short extension piece.

I have a 7" extension on my flush mount hitch. I use a Kuat double bike rack. Towing is no problem either.
