Yes you want to disable the sub in forscan or unplug it behind the rear panel before doing the Kicker DSP. I have explicit settings and options for the Kicker DSP setup in my install thread. No i did not. I didn’t know how to unplug it or that I even had to. And yes, It is wired directly to the battery.
Dude that's badass...sorry yeah kicks not doors. Still thinking about copying you setup. Actually tested the HS10 for fit under the front seat yesterday...are you using 1" seat jackers? Thanks for your time.that was me. except the JL Audio 6W3v3-4 are in the kick speakers location, not the doors.
correct!!!Dude that's badass...sorry yeah kicks not doors. Still thinking about copying you setup. Actually tested the HS10 for fit under the front seat yesterday...are you using 1" seat jackers? Thanks for your time.
Is that just spacer or is it threaded? 1" is all it takes to get a hideway sub under the seat? That seems like the perfect solution for my needs.correct!!!

I used a metric threaded rod and a metric coupler nut...I think they were 3" and I cut them in half...leaving 1 ³/⁸ approximately...the threaded rod goes down into the original hole and a new flanged lockout on top.Is that just spacer or is it threaded? 1" is all it takes to get a hideway sub under the seat? Brilliant! Thank youI used a metric threaded rod and a metric coupler nut...I think they were 3" and I cut them in half...leaving 1 ³/⁸ approximately...the threaded rod goes down into the original hole and a new flanged lockout on top.
Did you run a separate power from the battery? Or did you simply power it off the Plug-n-play harness?Just received mine and installed in with 30 min of getting. Sound is amazing. Ran the DSP setup with mic and it completely changed everything. I left compression off. No need for new speakers in my opinion. I used zip ties to secure the amp. Seems very secure this way and took 2 minutes. It is tricky getting the center panel off. I just pulled and prayed and nothing broke. Total install time was 45 min.

The older Plug-n-Play harnesses pull power from the same power line that runs the factory ACM.Did you run a separate power from the battery? Or did you simply power it off the Plug-n-play harness?
Thanks
Thank you. I've been reading this thread for a while and couldn't find anything too helpful. This is good to know. The older Plug-n-Play harnesses pull power from the same power line that runs the factory ACM.
A few people were running into problems related to that, and therefore all of the newer harnesses require you to wire power to the battery.
It's possible. Checking to see if the amp is powering on is a good first step.Thank you. I've been reading this thread for a while and can't find anything too helpful. This is good to know.
I bought my Kicker Key and harness about a year ago, shortly before deciding to upgrade to a new Bronco. So I only just tried to install it this weekend, but I didn't get any audio. I wasn't sure if the issue was the harness, the Key (I bought it used from a reputable seller on EBay), or what.
But I didn't have enough time to troubleshoot fully -- I only had a little time to give it one shot (and I assumed it would be as easy as everyone said!)
Could lack of proper power be the issue here, in your opinion?
Cool. Thanks. Is there an indicator light? With no manual for my Key, I couldn't tell what I was missing! There were two small spots that looked like they *should* light up (but didn't). But I'm not sure if those are LEDs.It's possible. Checking to see if the amp is powering on is a good first step.
I personally have the old harness that pulls power from the ACM line and have zero issues with the Kicker Key 200.4 on my install. I do have the adapter harness to switch the power to the battery, and I will install that at some point. But I'm in no particular rush.
On one side of the Kicker Key 200.4 there is a power LED—should light up when the amp has power.Cool. Thanks. Is there an indicator light? That'll do it. Ugh. Pretty sure no lights ever went on ... so now I need to figure out if I need a new harness or new amp.On one side of the Kicker Key 200.4 there is a power LED—should light up when the amp has power.
you can download the manual online. That'll do it. Ugh. Pretty sure no lights ever went on ... so now I need to figure out if I need a new harness or new amp.
Thanks! That saves me some headaches, and it also reminds me not to buy used again any time soon ...
