Does the 2.7 come from the factory with one also?
It doesn't have one on the 2.7L on the F-150... so it probably doesn't have one on the Bronco either.

The 2.7L is dual injection motor... it has both port injection and direct injection. Effectively means fuel is sprayed into both the intake (port) and directly into the cylinder (direct). The fuel injected into the intake will act as a natural cleaning solvent to help keep the intake clean. Which means the 2.7L engine—in theory anyway—shouldn't need the oil/air separator.

(The 2.3L engine is a direct injection-only motor.)

Thank you for explaining that, much appreciated!

For the Ford can, I had one on my GT350. To empty it, I had an old giant turkey baser that I would take the top off, suck it up, and put in an old measuring cup. After seeing what and how much I would put it in my oil disposal.

I *think* I would prefer to do a PCV catch can, but I gotta say I'm REALLY loving the design and placement of the Ford Performance kit. Underhood is getting cramped with winch solenoid and whatnot, making installing other designs difficult if not impossible.

Wonder if I can't pick up the Ford kit and just make my own hoses to route it to the PCV ports instead...

Just did my second 5000 mile oil change and tire rotation. Emptied the Ford performance catch can, actually wiped it out with a rag to clean it. Estimate about 1/8 of a fluid ounce accumulated in the bottom of it.

Okay. So it is catching something. I haven't installed mine yet. Thanks for the update.

Installed on my 23 Everglades

20230405_130932.webp

I like the OEM look of the Ford Product.

The photo shows a very clean and professional installation, whether that's the suggested installation, or Helomech73 did a very good job of installing it.

Then there's fact of it being a Ford Product, that later, God forbid, I ever have any issue(s), the Dealer can't instantly blame it on an aftermarket product.

I wonder if the Ford 2.3L Engine Cover from the Ranger, which I have installed on my BD, would interfere w/the fit here.

To me this is a waste of money on the 2.7l since it has both port and direct injection.

If I had a 2.3l I'd buy this.

I run catch cans on all of my direct injection cars.

Does this installation effect the warranty of your Bronco?

How easy, or hard was the installation?

Alright... curiosity killed the cat and I bought one.

I'll report back in 3-4 months to see if it actually did anything. Based on what John (@Mishimoto) said above this was probably a waste of money. But... Memorial Day sales got the best of me.

Install video below for those curious—wasn't too difficult at all.

Would this installation effect the Ford Warranty if installed?

passenger install was among the easiest things you could do. Sub-5 min install. Driver side lower OEM hose connection makes that side take longer because that connector is a bitch.

...subscribing...

A catch can is next up on my mod list.
I bought the mishimoto system. Pricey but does an outstanding job. Fairly easy install.
