I've put a decent amount of ass time in the seat of the Bronco and I have to say, I am still lowering the rear window most of the time before I realize I have my finger on the wrong button, and have to raise up the rear window and then lower the driver window - and yes I go through Dunkin Drive Through way too much.
And yes 2 door crowd, I know what you are going to say. 😒😁

So I'm wondering, has anyone flipped the switches to put the front windows on top and the back windows on the bottom?

And am I the only one who's brain refuses to get on bord with the switch positioning? o_O

The window switches work properly and anyone who says differently has their brain wired backwards. :p

Honestly though, I've never had an issue with them, very natural. My wife, on the other hand, completely agrees with you and constantly complains about how the switches are wired upside down.

The parking brake switch though... now THAT is wired backwards. You shouldn't have to push in to release the parking brake, doesn't even make sense. But I've been told they've since corrected that sometime late 2022/early 2023.

If someone told me the Bronco's interior designers had hours-long meetings devoted to the correct wiring of window & parking brake switch, I would not at all be surprised.

Late '22 here, and mine is push-in to release. I think with the original "pull out" method, Ford engineers recalled the old pedal parking brakes where you pulled out to release the pedal. Our '04 F150 has that style. But sometimes when you change the paradigm, you must change the operation. With just a switch, it makes more sense to push to engage. But since it's fully electric, they could have just done a push-button style switch and avoid any potential confusion.

The window controls on my 2011 crew cab Lariat are of course in the door, and to this day I still open the rear window at times when trying to operate my drivers side. One can’t hold Ford responsible for us imbeciles .

Designing the door systems with the window switches on the door trim panels, instead of the center console was never an option. The 5-gang switch pack (LHS) and the 1-Gang on the other 3 doors, would have added extra weight to each door (add in extra wire harness runs to each door, added switch bezels, etc.), as well as additional cross-car space need to package the 5-gang LHS, thus making each front door wider, and that would prohibit the doors from stowing in the back end.

People complain that the doors are already pretty heavy ( I know they were over the weight targets) so adding weight was never on the table

That was my very first question when I got in at the dealer. WTH? They are upside down and there’s zero reasoning that would suggest the rear controls belong on top.

There was a post a good while back about replacing a defective window switch so I asked about flipping it. I was told it’s a single module that fits only one way. Go figure.

Glad I’m not alone!

Did that for the first 6-12 months of ownership. Now I got used to it. But I am kind of weird. After nearly 60 years I still can't read road surface signs the way they are intended - from the bottom up. Given how ingrained top-down reading is in most of the world I have always wondered why doesn't everyone have this problem.

you're the only one. The panel slants; the switches toward the front of the car are the front windows.
I agree with OP in that I would often press the wrong one. But then I agree with this concept as in there is a slant and the front (bottom) switches are in the front.

What I did, is for several times, I would say to myself 'front, forward switch' as I would intentionally press the front (bottom) window button.

After doing that for awhile I get it without thinking about it now.

You can teach an old dog new tricks.
